If you want a rich man Shippy then Midway could fit the bill. He doesn't hang about and will have taken his profit here on Tuesday. Why wouldn't here. If it's a rich woman you are after then possibly me, I wait a wee bit longer but my profit was being taken on Wednesday when I was listening to the very humorous knight who supports Nicky's party with his lucre or possibly the man from Standard Life. I have a different tactic to Midway though and keep some free shares lol maybe they will be worth zilch soon. Pity the share tip from the knight was in a private company. Might let you all know if I have another go. Gerry Paddington 2 hits the big screens tonight and they sent me a pre view of the ad though I don't spend a lot in there on non-food. Life in general is better for me than the lead up to last Christmas. I am told all you need to do is focus on 20 good things in your life every day and forget about the twitter. Lokash I think the best we can hope for from posts on a bb is that they can read the direction of a share price correctly at particular points in time and that if people are going to issue buy and sell recommendations to others that they do so at appropriate prices. With regard to Mike Ashley, well he is a self made billionaire and I don't know about you but I'm not. I'm really not interested in anybody's life style as we all know of folk who smoked like chimneys and lived till a hundred. I can think of one politician who as Ian Hislop implied was a better orator after a few wee drams than most of the rest who aspire to sit in the Houses of Parliament. Some think the amount of sleep we get is important to our health yet there were a lot of politicians who burned the midnight oil allegedly or was it all just propaganda. Mind you look what happened to the paper tiger Mussolini. His lack of shut eye did him no good in the end. I take it from the time of your postings this week that you are in a different time zone or that you trade the international markets or do nightshift in the steel factory. If not then I would aim for 7 hours lest somebody comes along and questions your life style lol ATB

Thanks Lokash for your take on what will make sp change. It is only a short time since the share price rose from the current level to hit the fifties as some of us here at the time will be aware of. Any particular reason for that? Mike successfully traded deb shares before he entered into the options and could do so again for whatever reason. A highly shorted share is volatile. Which hedge fund will close or reduce first and a divi on the way - kind of Russian roulette in a way. Midway I can only suggest that if you don't like higher taxes in Scotland that you take up residence in England lol. I take it you are not on the free tablets, have a teenager in HE or have yourself or an elderly relative getting the free personal care. If you want all that then somebody's got to pay and it can't all come from corporation tax. It has though taken Nicky a wee while to figure this out but has no doubt taken her less time to realise that she will, as a result, lose out in the popularity stakes.

OFF TOPIC Gerry it serves me right as I normally wouldn't touch cigarettes either but have done well with the bookies, chocolate and alcohol. Sorry to take so long to respond to you Lokash. I have been keeping an eye on deb's off and on since 2009 and the performance has been pretty up and down over that timescale. Loaded up today because I think the current share price is grossly undervalued. If I do well in the short term then well and good and if not then I am not in a hurry to sell. I take your point about financial journalists. I like it when a share price rises based on their tipping of it but unfortunately you have absolutely no redress when they get things horrendously wrong. All the best.

Nobody shorts my shares cause I keep a trading plan in place to sell them at current price times 200%. Sometimes you can get back from a Friday afternoon shopping to find them sold for you in my experience.

Apart from the one poor Christmas when Mike Ashely muscled in here and made a few bob on a quick trade, I don't remember Michael Sharp doing all that badly and the share price was a lot higher than it's been under the current former Amazon guy. I think on line apart from flower site hacking has been doing okay for a long while so it was the bricks and mortar that needed spd concessions or the hairdressers or flower stalls or whatever. On line department store florists just do what the supermarkets or your own garden and a pair of scissors and vase do only a lot dearer. If it's artistry and oasis arrangements or bridal bouquet you want for Mrs. G or a wreath for your great aunt Maud then I suggest you try a traditional high street florist.

Some might say the share is being shorted to allow spd to buy this on the cheap. There wouldn't be the level of shorting there is if somebody wasn't allowing their shares to be borrowed. Lokash if the current chief executive is so good then why is the share price on the floor? He came with a wealth of on line experience but no bricks and mortar and though it was not his fault deb's on line flowers suffered a hacking problems and has never returned to my knowledge though how much money is in flowers these days anyway. Ashley knows the high street some would say but then spd price isn't looking too clever at the moment so more about conditions and that's why institutions might be prepared to settle for a lot less than folk think.

He can get rid of as many outlets within Tesco or debs as he likes as you need to experiment to see which ones work and which are duplicating what already exists in a particular geographical area to a large extent as long as he doesn't get rid of his shares. In deb's you have a high level of shorting interest creating a level of volatility in the stock so if you play the game then you can trade and build up a holding of free shares or take your full profit out. There is the stake and options held by Mike Ashley adding to the intrigue here and who knows whether he wants to use Newcastle and Rangers funds to buy spd and or debs. There is a new independent director who seems to have been involved in retailers who have had mixed fortunes eg. House of Fraser where he was heavily involved and had other roles on the fringes at Jessops and hmv! Understand you reasons for going at flyb but the bb is looking a lot more useful since the arrival of sage. I read the statement last week and see the problem was a one of (famous last words) so might have been time to buy there when it tumbled.
