It's because a survey out yesterday shows the best places for women to live in the UK are East Dunbartonshire and East Renfrewshire especially since one man in particular moved out of the areas. Seemingly they have the best houses, jobs, education, leisure, longevity and health. So if you want a second home for Miss Piggy when she is over here that's the best places to look to keep her happy and there are apparently spin off benefits for the men.

Well as far as I'm concerned, I am going to buy either Gog or gnk next week - possibly some of both - as I am not alone in thinking the markets overreacted to news from both companies. I know gog have a few job's worth type people in minor positions - as do most companies - which doesn't concern me as their management resolved a situation for me in a manner that indicated they treat their customers well and are image conscious. I have taken up an issue with gnk and am waiting to see how it gets handled before investing again because to me that will be indicative of how the company intends to handle any loss of market share to competitors which really will be the crucial factor for the company going forward. BTW could recommend IPA from a tiny micro brewery called Lawman.

Think there has been a lot of manipulation or extracting the p - call it what you will - since provident declared a divi then axed it in what was a fairly extreme set of circumstances but events like that can then be used to spook investors investing for divis elsewhere in the market. Healthy divi to come here don't be cheated out of it.

Another thing I should have said is that cty is near its year high (maybe with good reason I dunno) and hasn't gone much higher in recent years so I would be worried about getting spiked. rr. having retraced a bit would get my buy first and certainly didn't want to go under £9 for very long recently when I last traded some. I only trade long but others on here trade shares in both directions so would be interested to hear from a swinger.

There are loads of shares offer very good short term trading prospects e.g. this morning DC. and, yesterday into today PFG, WPP and GNC. It's a question of weighing up the risk and reward ratio and getting your timing right. rr. has been a risky, exciting share in recent years imo cty seems to have been a more steady plodder over the same time frame and it's up to you to decide whether you think rr. is settling down to become a similar safe but boring bet with a divi on offer . Very much will depend like all companies on the news and results it delivers . Good luck.

fivenights - I disagree and think they were right to make the statement. I hadn't heard too much of Greencore until yesterday - other than times when I had mistyped the ticker for Greeneking. Looked for reasons for a drop and couldn't find so the statement is reassuring. With an aging population, I can see loads of need for Wiltshire farm type frozen ready mini meals and the like so taking a look at the food manufacturing sector again after many years' absence. Gnc doing me proud.
