Interesting read. I certainly would have got my shoes a lot faster direct from Merrell with no postage or click and collect charges and incentives to recommend a friend.

I really don't think spd should be lecturing other retailers on imposing charges for high value transactions.. My recent experience with spd involved the longest wait for click and collect goods I have ever experienced with any retailer and you charged £4.99 for the privilege as you do across the board for transactions of any value. Okay the items were good value for money but they have to be available promptly as well not a week after purchase. Never mind whether somebody thinks I am a cheapskate for buying Merrell but whatever I'm not Zola Budd and b&b owner had a range of shoes and maps for borrowing but I am funny about secondhand shoes and boots.

No I was out this morning so didn't see the kaz news and was watching rr. this afternoon. Didn't catch 15p rise because you were posting. Think there is a strong case for posting only when the markets are closed in the style of lego. As you know, I held kaz, fres and hoc through a rights issue for what LC would call a century until I got a decent profit on them all including enrc allocation of kaz and I think only fres paid a divi. Did a bit of trading of them all while holding core tranches and building up free shares tinky winky style. Haven't read any of it. Big drop some sort of quick bounce perhaps.

Fed the auld yin and looked in the shops and debenhams was fully stocked with back to school stuff though that is not something I need now though you might in a few years. Clarins promo on so took advantage of that. If HoF is still around in a week or two, I'm going to take tea on the Maid of the Loch and check Jenners in Loch Lomond and will get a ticket for sommit at the Edinburgh Festial which they are sponsoring and check stock in Princes street as well as looking in the city branches up here -one scheduled for closure. Can't see spd buying a pig in a poke and remember all the spec about bhs which came to nothing. Didn't have a 11% there though. I've spent around £1,000 in debs over the course of the last year on bedding for my household and another and have been loyal precisely because there was no click and collect or postal charges for bigger transaction value orders.

KRSS I see no problem with staff time spent on click and collect or new card applications except at the festive period. My own household has holders of three cards including a student who was approved though with a low credit limit. On cards, a different type of card is the Debenhams beauty card. Debs charge £2 on click and collect orders of under ££20. My own view is there should be no charges for click and collect customers spending any amount. spd charge £5 for click and collect but give customers a £5 voucher to spend in store which MA reckons 70% of customers use but he has no idea how many customers might have been put off by the £5 charge. I clicked and collected Merrell shoes there and was prepared to pay the £5 because spd were selling one of the pairs of shoes at over £30 cheaper than the manufacturer. Have to go out now but your previous comments about deb credit and store cards are not comprehensible to me. The cards are offered currently through New Day.
