Proposed Directors of Tirupati Graphite explain why they have requisitioned an GM. Watch the video here.
And, in fact, if go onto the Smiths website, you will find that you can only buy gift vouchers for a limited number of other retailers from them on line. I don't suppose it bothers John Lewis, Next or a hundred others if you cannot get their gift vouchers from Smiths.
Please don't make me laugh. With no disrespect to anybody holding shares in W H Smith, the only times I have shopped with them in years is when I have been desperate for a polo mint on a long motorway journey so big deal if they have stopped selling gift cards for any other retailers as they probably can't sell many of their own let alone for other retailers.. I think after a few wrong price calls on the FXPO bb, you were told by another poster that your posts cannot affect the market.
Hi Pearls I think you have misunderstood my post. I was shopping on line at Debenhams and had 23 different hairdryers to choose from which is choice enough for me and anybody can go on line and check this out though I have no idea how many of each were in stock but it is unimportant as I probably wouldn't be buying 2 identical hairdryers on the same day unless one was a gift and there is even less chance of me wanting to buy 2 identical items of clothing for my son unless one was a different colour or it was a school uniform item in which case all shops' stocks are depleted at this time of year. Since time immemorial, shops have run out of certain sizes of garments quickly. My late mother-in-law used to try to put her size to the back of the rails in M & S in the hope that the item would get reduced but invariably it got sold before her next visit.
spd have a strong customer base in sports and leisurewear but in Jenners Loch Lomond today, the foodhall was looking a shadow of its former self with empty fridges and reduced Ayrshire bacon near its use by date and the Barbour jarred with the Firetrap stuff no doubt brought in to fill the space created by suppliers who have pulled out of HoF. On Jeremey Vine's Radio 2 programme last week, the number of disgruntled HoF customers was given an airing. Would you return to a store if they had failed to supply a fully paid sofa or not honoured a gift card regardless of a change of ownership. No nor would I. Sorry I didn't have much time to do much other than collect my parcel from debs later but didn't spot any empty shelves or rails. Far from being a strong parent, you might find spd have bitten off more than they can chew with HoF. Certainly not many buyers of spd stock in evidence on the bb at the moment.
Not quite managed to break the £11 mark yet but tried a couple of times recently . Strawberry tarts in the summer aside, this is coming up to the hot food season when greggs sell a lot of heat me up on the go foods and they are very high profile during the weeks leading up to Children in Need. Their festive mince pies are frankly better than mine.
Going in to debs today to pick up three small electrical products. In one category, I had 23 products to choose from - that's plenty choice for me. Pearl just sell your shares if you are so concerned, it's as simple as that to rectify all the niggling doubts you seem to have. Have a good day all.
whether by design or accident probably going to be taken private as cheaply as he can get it.
Come on Mike Independent says you should be hugging any HoF customers you have left. Instead you are instructing Glasgow staff to ignore their emails after making all sorts of promises you have not kept. Year low looming here. Anybody trying to clock if I am short on this dog.
a gold plated tea infuser but I'm not going to find it on the HoF website as it is still down and it might damage my street cred to pop into one of their stores. I think I'll just settle for any sort of tea infuser. If I do a bit of Debenhams I can find 3 on line. How many weeks to Christmas.
Blimey have you heard the one about a minority shareholder being able to block the disposal of an asset. My foot.
"At the moment, Ashley is winning!" Hmm are you sure about that LSE2000. I am not sure how many people read broadsheet newspapers but I do know how many people listen to national radio station radio 2. Jeremy Vine's programme this afternoon was highlighting why some shoppers will not be going back to spd's HoF and giving reasons to others to stay away . So whether you want to believe deb's last rns or not, the customers will have been taking their custom somewhere. And before somebody says there are HoF jobs at stake here, you would need to ask yourself what kind of jobs do you get from spd. The Independent are on to this as well. But my guess is Emma Simpson will soon be instructed to take her sleeping bag to Buchanan Street and I don't mean for the sales either. A Panorama special probably in the offing.
If you want to focus on media reports, there are some out there say the price tag for Newcastle United has been dropped. Am I right in thinking that is owned by Mash which is a separate entity from spd.
today customers explaining why they're never going back again. Treated very shabbily and the staff could be next.
Hi KRSS personally I think it is hilarious if JL are wheeling out Elton John in his farewell tour year as he has become synonymous with state funerals and 3 songs featuring the word Goodbye not buy. Think the money could have been put to much better use. I don't see him being a hit with the younger generation of shoppers is my main point. I liked M & S's Paddington ads last year for a very personal reason and do think Fleetwood Mac's Albatross on this is not just food this is M & S food has been fairly effective but then I have been to more of their concerts than anybody else's. That said I am not watching much telly and even less on the commercial channels. I'm not by nature a JL shopper and so unlikely to be turned on by Elton. They had a tea strainer I liked but it is no longer in stock in store and not worth the postage to buy it online.
On media articles, doubt if Mike would have the ability to bloke the disposal of Magasin du Nord but if he wants it then he might need to get in the queue. Do you think the outgoing spd director made a faux pas? If so there would always be the Mash route. For mash get Smash now that was a good ad. ATB
Hi Dip like yourself I have done very well with spd in the past but I don't know who is advising Mike these days. Maybe people are frightened to be candid to his face. We live in very cut throat times and if you dither then your competitors will take advantage. I'd be surprised if HoF can be resuscitated and it seems to have become toxic in recent weeks to its customers and suppliers. A merger with debs might be HoF's only option but whether the reverse is true is not so clear cut. I'm a debs customer and agree with the recent survey that put it in the top six of reputable retailers - spd came last. If JL have Elton John on their Christmas ad in the year of his farewell tours then maybe Mike should pay Ed Sheeran or George Ezra to promote HoF but he wouldn't shell out for that. The likes of Alfie Boe is a bit too high brow and old to be my cup of tea which probably explains why as a Glaswegian the only thing about HoF that ever animated me was Santa's grotto.
Anyway I see Greeneking have upped their shareholder discount from 20 to 25% and for up to 5 visits per month in their pubs and restaurants and are offering incentives to all holders for hotel stays so a bit of a rant on these bbs sometimes gets a result. Good luck with your investments.
I am not sure who all your satisfied shareholders are. Even Odey must be getting a bit nervous if the stories are true that none of the big 4 are interested in tendering to audit spd accounts and after the outcome of the most recent court stuff. Never any dividend payments here and the share price a long way off the £7 plus I remember not so very long ago. Instead of relying on brokers to get the share price up why don't you buy something that isn't on its knees like HoF and then treating their remaining customers with contempt, stop all the trading in options etc. as only the jd share dealing was a triumph and some deb's a few years ago not sure about Tesco Stop all this bravado about smashing into debs at some point because, as you are aware, they have been outperforming all their competitors in these tough times. . If you want a FOOT in the door in Scandinavia then you'll have to pay a fair price. As the old adage says: you only get what you pay for. Have a good weekend x
Yeah they could take it private at sub £2.00. Disco dave might have been right all along. House of Frasers directors with flats etc. Pot calling kettle black
Website still down, 7 stores looked at at last public count. Jackie Baillie et al fearful of zero hours contracts and even students have course timetables. Can we believe anything this lot says. Look who was clocked at the agm lol

This town aint big enough for the both of us.
Was chatting to somebody who wondered if they specialised in selling one shoe to dog owners and people with different sized feet.

Used these fake Scottish notes in Next, Asda and House of Fraser. Wouldn't have been possible if Nicky's face had been on the notes. Yes I know there's lots of other news out there but if nobody else can be bothered then neither can I. Off on my more adventurous travels Russell. DD
Rbrand I am too young to know who this Johnny Rotten guy is - born in the fifties and married a duchess or heiress or some such according to wiki and recorded a version of the English national anthem so must like the Queen. The young entrepreneurs at Foot Asylum appear to have been stymied.
I know they offer a student discount because I researched them but how much of a chunk is that taking out of their profits.. Just did a dummy buy and would have had no problem with the transaction going through as I wanted to see if the comments about negotiated trades only would mirror my experience and it didn't. In the words of Dragons in the den not for me but good luck.
