KNIGELK I tend to agree with you about click and collect ie why do it if you are going into the store anyway. I get free deliveries with my Debenhams cards but I am not always in to take receipt of parcels and certainly the items I clicked and collected from spd would not have been stocked in store and took so long to arrive that they had obviously been ordered from the supplier and arrived too late for me to use when I needed them. Next time I might go direct to the supplier - very easy to do with sports shoes. It's the principle of the matter for me. I will not pay a 2.5% surcharge for paying for a holiday with a credit card if there is no charge for using a debit card. I'll also not pay to click and collect from a retailer if the same stuff or similar can be clicked and collected free of charge elsewhere. Somebody posted on here that there are 10 amazon parcels arriving at offices to one from Debenhams which might be reasonably accurate and you can speculate how many end up being returned possibly with missing computer parts lol. Would think in store purchases result in fewer returns

This isn't an Ashley idea at all. Debenhams have periodically included money off vouchers in click and collect parcels to be used against future spends. Ashley wanted them to charge £4.99 (like spd for all click and collect orders in order to receive a voucher to spend in store) even for high value transactions which would be a faux pas as far as I'm concerned and I obviously do a lot of shopping at Debenhams. Bucher said the £200 silk dress had been a sell out so do we really want to charge customers buying goods to that value an additional £5.
