TKY2 Osteoarthritis18 Sep 2020 11:17
Bit of a personal TYK2 post. I am 50 and I run quite a lot. Specifically fell, hill and mountain running. Anyway, I have developed some of Osteoarthritis in my ankle and some early signs of it in my knee. Been seeing a very good Physio who is entirely science based, no fancy ice baths and shockwave type stuff. She tells me, contrary to what people think, Osteoarthritis is a biological condition, not mechanical and she has been sharing some science papers\blogs with me. I saw a blog yesterday showing Cytokines IL-1, 8, 18, 6, 10 and 4! Ha ha. I wrote back and said I know all about interleukins and joked, If only there was a way to switch the bad ones off? She wrote back as said how do you know about this. I answered with, “it’s loooong story” :-)
