Covid grant. What next.27 Oct 2020 15:43
Now it's a bit quieter in here. It's noting for the newbies what they have invested in. SAR have two TYK2 inhibitors in development. SDC1801 and SDC1802. SDC1802 has been developed for cancer and we just got a worldwide patent granted 2 weeks ago. I'm not going to list the types of cancer that could be treated with 1802 or the market size, they are huge though. Although both TYK2 compounds could be used to treat Covid. Right now, all we are interested in is SDC1801. 1801 was tweaked to specifically target autoimmune diseases and it is designed to inhibit cytokines. Also, 1801 has been tested by the US Ministry of Defence for Lupus. Why is this important? The patients who get seriously ill with Covid usually show signs of cytokine storms, where their body overreacts to the foreign invader and we may be able to turn off these cytokines so the body can fight off the disease. Even more interesting, is the fact that Covid immune response is very similar to lupus. SDC1801 and SAR are right in the sweet spot for a potential covid treatment. How big is the market? Gilead has had over 3 billion in sales for Remdesivir, since April and it has only just been approved. It also doesn't work that well. It just reduces the time to recover. SO how much in sales could an actual treatment make? Pick a number between 1 and 10 and add 9 zero. Even if SDC1801 doesn't come good for Covid. At the very least, it fast tracks the compound in all other autoimmune indications, again the market size has 9 zeros. There is a reason the LTH's have held all this time. I have bet on a 150 to 1 shot and, just like Betfred, I can cash out early if I want. I'm still excited as hell. GLA
