Theo - I totally agree, with regards to sending the wrong messages out. That also crossed my mind, that the banking sector should get an uplift if Boe rates remain unchanged. What if the Boe were to raise interest rates by 0.25%?

Jm1973 - Personally I think rates will remain unchanged today. I see no reason for justifying a rate cut, but that's just my personal opinion.

I'm suprised the way the Metro SP has held up so well today considering the FTSE is down nigh on 200 points! This bodes well and is a positive indicator, considering there is no news.
