I’d say there are five essential factors for efficient tech transfer:-

A comprehensive tech transfer document:
Reflecting deep product understanding and includes all the important parameters of your bioprocess, analytical procedures and critical quality attributes (MoA, CQAs etc.)

CMO capabilities aligned with your requirements and goals:
Clear goals setting up front
Timelines, costs and deliverables meet your needs
Expertise and quality oversight in the specific applications required
Capacity
Communication – open and often
Transparency

Contract SOP embodying a robust plan:
Clearly defined roles and responsibilities
Process and facility map
Analytics transfer
Process development as necessary

Demonstrated equivalence at the starting scale/process:
Proof of concept engineering runs at scale prior to GMP

Clear, frequent and transparent communication:
CMO transparency—being able to go into the plant to see how the process is run, and being able to bring the process back in-house, i.e. (including reverse knowledge transfer).

They're 2 separate trials. The gob in a pot is a trial of mass testing as a process, in Salford and Southampton. The 20 min test in Hampshire is a bit of kit in a van, so about mobile testing. Details on the link....

The saliva trial they're running is at home sampling, not at home testing. People are gobbing in pots and posting them back with a turnaround time of 48 hours. It's not the holy grail

The 20 min test is that teacup rubbish. He can only talk about what is currently available and validated. As soon as the LFD appears, all the placeholders will disappear. So, whenever you listen to him, just replace 20 min test with awacta.

This is bread and butter for Cytiva. I think I’ve accidentally stumbled back in to the kitchen analogy... but it’s what they do. It’s in their best interests to successfully complete the tech transfer as quickly as possible as they will be earning royalties. It also doesn’t do much for their reputation to struggle with the day job. To balance that, the timescales are unheard of, so mistakes *could* have been made. Bottom line is we haven’t got a clue and no amount of wild speculation will make a difference. We’ll find out when an RNS appears at some point in the future. In anyone else wants to help me measure this piece of string, I could do with some help...

I haven’t looked, but there might some info out there on how they might interact. I read that they’re expecting lower rates of seasonal flu this year, but that’s more a result of social distancing
