Would you believe it? Turns out Boris was talking about a daily antibody test.... picture the scene:
Day 1 - took test, no antibodies. Phew
Day 2 - got Covid from my asymptomatic neighbour. Took test, no antibodies. Phew
Day 3 - started shedding virus, infected a couple of people including Matt Handjob’s nan. Took test, no antibodies. Phew
Day 4 - started spraying virus everywhere, probably infected at least 20 people today. Took test, no antibodies. Phew
Day 5 - went to the match & pub thanks to my negative antibody test, brilliant day out, infected 30 more people. Took test, no antibodies. Phew
Day 6 - 10 - same story, infected another bunch of people. Took test, no antibodies. Phew
Day 11 - avoided my nan, she’s got Covid and has been hospitalised, wonder where she got that from. Took test, no antibodies. Phew
Day 12 - loving this antibody passport, went to the theatre. Took test, positive. Oh. Hang on, where did the antibodies come from? Oops, turns out I’m an asymptomatic superspreader. Damn, wonder why Boris suggested taking an utterly pointless antibody test every day. If only he’d screened the population with an antigen test so that I could have immediately isolated and stopped spreading the virus. Anyway, nan’s funeral is tomorrow, I’ve got my Covid passport so at least I can go to it.
Back to reality. There’s a need to stop transmission chains. That’s achieved through regular antigen testing. Ignoring the covidiots that believe Boris was talking about anything other than an antigen test.
