Jim, no one is interested. It's literally the same thing that's been discussed to death. It's disruptive. Best bet from now on is to report and ignore anyone that mentions some other company that are producing a small volume of unknown quality tests and selling them at cost in Africa. It's completely irrelevant to Awacta. If they're lucky they might sell a few to a regional airport when it arrives next year.

There's little can be done about an independent company selling an antibody test. They're responsible for their own actions and it's certainly not Awacta's place to police them. As I've said before, I don't see this being a market for us in the short term - Matt Handjob will be ordering huge volumes for a national testing programme. There's little point offering anything DTC whilst the govt is shipping them to your home each week.

As it happens, if Medusa are going live soon then that means they'll definitely be ready for us to add this additional distribution channel when the time is right.

Similar to hants, I won't paste anything verbatim from Sir Al's response, but it was pleasing to see that the 'most infectious' phrase used in the RNS lines up perfectly with the aims of govts wanting to mass screen the population.

AfamaMan, I also think they're on potentially shaky ground, but technically antibodies are produced during an active infection. however, marketed in this way suggests it would provide a safe working environment and antibody tests do little when it comes to active infections and how infectious someone is.

During the R4 interview he was challenged on the previous ‘game changer’ announcements that have been made and not amounted to anything. He openly said he was being deliberately cautious. I’m sure the plans (and genuine excitement) behind the scenes are for the roll out for Awacta’s test.

There’s a focus on the UK and given the govt are suggesting weekly tests for all, that’s plenty volume to get started with. Once we’ve showcased the capability and life here starts to return to normal, every govt will be begging and helping to line up production partners.

They’ll be wanting to send out the antibody tests to homes. Today’s media round robin is a nice preview of what will happen when Awacta’s test passes through validation. It’s being validated now...

None of it can be us as our test isn’t ready. The vans are NCYTs. They’ll roll out whatever is currently available and replace it when something better (Awacta’s LFD) turns up.
