From now until Dec when the full ramp to 10m per day starts they still want to increase the testing via the tech they currently have. We've heard recently that people are being told to travel hundreds of miles as there are test shortages due to a lack of reagents. They can't ramp up existing testing without an increase in supply of reagents.

Luckily, the holy grail uses affimers. Reagents are another barrier to entry for other test manufacturers.

Guardian journalist. I’m more interested in the article than her view. Her main complaints are that it’ll cost a lot - she’s not really considering the continuing economic and health damage being done. The other complaint is that the plan is predicated on new tech. If only she knew...

The leaked docs were written by clueless consultants, which won’t help implementation. However, the basic idea and considerations align well with the sage version. In the absence of a vaccine, they have to act as we’ve already seen before winter that restrictions are returning and will them further economic damage. They can only confidently start the economy with rapid antigen testing in the millions. There’s definitely a risk that they make a mess of it, but Awacta and their knowledge of an incoming saliva LFD is clearly a driving force behind their grand plan.

Cheap one-upmanship from Timster.... however, I’m sure everyone on the planet will be following Boris and testing daily. So, 8Bn a day. We might need just a couple more manufacturers. At £3 a test, that should bring in £8.76 trillion in profit per annum and a give a share price of just over £35,000, only accounting for a single year of profits.

For those interested, that’s £28,900 exc China.
