Thanks for asking Gazala, the scan results weren’t brilliant so now it’s the hard slog of treatment, but he’s positive and mindset is half the battle so that’s good.

That’s compared to PCR though, who knows about its usability for stopping transmission. S&S figures without any context aren’t much use. Having a rapid diagnostic that misses someone that was infected 3 weeks ago doesn’t matter. Luckily, the U.K. govt seem to have wrapped their heads around this one and follow the thinking of Michael Mina who has been pushing for rapid testing for months. The £100bn Operation Moonshot, of which BRH could be a part, is about mass screening to identify the infectious, not the infected.

A worth comparison in terms of market cap though, in Jan, pre Covid, their price was 0.12. Currently about 10p so their market cap used to be about $6m and they’ve 80 bagged.

Might be jumping ahead slightly as we need to get past the POC hurdle this week, but... I was just having a look at Carl’s previous tweets and there’s a reply in there worth noting. He was asked about the route to market and said they would be engaging with the govt to get involved in Operation Moonshot. There’s a clear path for assessment that results in procurement. The govt have earmarked £100bn to try and get us out of this mess, so there’s plenty cash available to go after. This isn’t an at home test, but the USP of speed to result differentiates this test to others so there’s of lot of potential for use in high throughput venues

Given the exquisite sensitivity of affimers, and obviously we’re looking at the U.K. rather than the US, but I’d imagine there’d be no need for confirmation of results. Especially once results are framed against infectivity. Knowing that someone is positive using a PCR test says nothing about how infectious they are.

That’s fair, I think it’s inevitable that the herd and the bashers will turn up at some point. It’s just a case of keeping a calm head, focus on the RNSs and the true value will emerge. We had 6 months of it on the Awacta board and it’s changed nothing in terms of the outcome. ‘Proof of Concept has been achieved for the Optical Detection System and development work continues to optimise detection sensitivity. Minor logistical issues arising from increased regional COVID-19 restrictions has meant that final proof of concept trials continue for the Capture & Signal Generation Modules and the results are now anticipated on 16 October 2020.’

Expect it’ll be perfectly calm on Thursday as there’s nothing due until the 16th or possibly the 19th. I suspect they can give a precise date as the delay was logistical due to Covid, probably a case of isolation for exactly 2 weeks.

GDR have not been targeting POC up to now, their USP is a faster version of PCR as they have a freeze dried solution that can enable automation. Their POC version was scheduled for the end of the year, I’m not sure where they are up to with this. I suspect they’ve struggled with approvals as it’s probably viewed as just another PCR test. The focus globally is now on rapid testing.

Thanks for finding and posting, that’s what I was talking about and that is why the share price over there crashed. We don’t want to go down that route, it needs to be properly validated. Assuming a successful POC and a successful validation with good S&S then I’d be very pleased to see a genuine 200m leap in mcap as TTG (temporarily) had...

I hope we won’t be compared to TTG, their test was ridiculed and the share price bombed back down. I hope that BRH go about things properly and don’t try and get ahead of themselves. As noted in this thread, a very fast measurement of infectivity and possibly even the stage of infection would be quite the USP. That said, the increase in TTGs mcap gives an indication of what might be achieved here on a successful POC. We’ve had comparisons against GDR and Skin at around 60m each. 220m would be an incredible leap for a company with a current market cap under 15m
