All very shambolic. They need a high efficacy rate as take up won’t be near 100%, especially for the mRNA vaccines. I’ve always felt that the best shot to get on top of the virus was mass screening and I’ve not changed my mind. It’ll be a combo, but as long as it circulates, huge amounts of testing will be needed.
The other consideration is politics might come in to it, with tit for tat refusals. The FDA might not fancy the Oxford developed vaccine purely because it’s from the U.K. and maybe they got wind that the MHRA don’t fancy the mRNA vaccines.
