They've been found out by not having a home grown diagnostics capability. The sovereign bit is about security of supply after they got found wanting earlier in the year. It's a lesson learnt.

Just make them, price them and sell them. If the govt want them they'll pay. If they don't, someone else will. It's really very simple. To answer your question, yes, if they're willing to pay the price we want. If they just want a bunch of cheap Chinese tat then they'll crack on with Innova.

It’s all turned a bit meta, the vast majority of posts are bell ends proffering their judgement on the quality or otherwise of other posts. Worth mentioning that yes, I understand irony. We need to find the sweet spot where we can improve on Innova to keep Jon Deeks quiet, but not too sensitive to start generating false positives, an unlikely risk but you never know with exquisite affimers. The next challenge is achieving consistent results in all settings, again to keep Jon Deeks quiet but to demonstrate it’s suitable for both professional and lay users. If we’re better than Innova we already know we’re on to a winner. If we set the best in class standard that can be used by all then... well, it’s the same as we can’t sell more than we can make.

This is typically an antibody from any number of companies including several that have fully completed Porton Down's assessments and specifically Innova as we've already ordered a truck load and need a few more until we can get a sovereign supplier, but may also be an aptamer from the Aptamer Group, Affimer from Avacta, or glycoprotein.

It’s ridiculous, that tender has been out for weeks and has contained the reference to affimers and other reagents for weeks. I didn’t think we’d be putting in for it when I first saw it and I don’t think that now. It’s irrelevant to the fortunes of Awacta. What’s relevant is getting a test to market and at huge volume ASAP. I’ve been saying that for quite a while now....
