So we’ve got a few options for selling. The U.K. govt for ongoing home testing. Given the performance characteristics it can also be used safely for care homes, events, travel, an alternative to quarantine. Plus business private testing if approved. Same is true for every country in Europe, plus cross border testing as part of their Covid passport. Then you have Bill Gates spending a few of his billions helping out LMICs. Plus the possibility of the US who love paying top dollar for at home tests. Not bad. For the longer term, a combined s/n test. All of that is just a shop window for affimers. Plenty to come...

As noted a few times, the paperwork doesn’t hold up TT, stockpiling and the preparation of deals that can be inked on the dotted line. It’ll all come together nicely as soon as possible during the summer

If I were PresAl and Mologic turned around and said ‘It’s not our fault, it’s the subcontractor and we’ve been told that it was an untrained new junior that did it’ he quite rightly be going utterly apocalyptic.

CO, interesting spot. If you put the two together you’re right, you could reach the possible conclusion that GAD will churn them out until TT to Abingdon/BBI/Others is in place. GADs volumes are probably already taken by WHO/Find/Bill Gates and the govt - via additional equipment. Of course it might transpire that the WHO/Find/govt test is the same one and they keep churning them out... time will tell.

Being fair, it was a sub contractor of Mologic so some leeway can be afforded. Mistakes happen, however given the importance, sitting on your hands thinking everything is fine isn’t too clever. The good news is the confirmation that the EU submission has also gone in and that there hopefully isn’t too much of a knock on to the numerous deals that should come off the back of it

They didn’t previously announce that submission so it’s impossible to say. The good news is that we have confirmation it has been made - hopefully correctly and hopefully they’ll bother to chase it up

There was a mix of self sampling, it’s in the report. The whole point of a nasal test is that self sampling is easier. It bodes well for AffiDx as it shows their excellent results should be replicated.

We’ve experienced a delay, that’s it, it changes nothing otherwise but it’s annoying. I didn’t have expectations that deals would be inked immediately, so the time to market shouldn’t have been impacted by the same number of days. Scaredy also makes a good point, it could mean that we are in a better position for larger deals than we would have been.

It’s a poor test in comparison, those aren’t great results. If I were a distributor in the EU I’d be sat on my hands waiting for the world leading best in class AffiDx. Further highlights how good out test is. If only the paperwork was complete... shortly...

Ultimately it won’t have made much of a difference, we’d have just been waiting for deals to be inked.... However, whoever they sub contracted it to clearly aren’t getting any further work and it’s poor that they didn’t chase up more closely. Suggesting it was another test reeks a fair bit, it’d be quite the coincidence. Sounds like this morning could be the last buying opp. Good to hear and get confirmation it’s also been submitted in the EU as that was an outstanding question.

They’ve already used the threat of the stick by saying to avoid local lockdowns people need to get vaccinated. The way they’re going they’ll be staring down the barrel of a severe outbreak in winter. People are still advised to work from home, borders are still closed. We’re a long way off from normal and pretending all will be ok just a month from now is utter madness that won’t end well. They’re desperately hoping for enough vaccination success so that they can stop reporting deaths. They can’t make this judgement until the winter, but I expect they’ll be celebrating in the summer when numbers would have been low anyway as we saw last year.

The scientists are correct. It’s basic maths. If the original variant had an average r value of 3 and the Alpha variant was about 50% more transmissible and the Delta 50% more than that then you’re looking at an untamed r value of around 6. Being vaccinated doesn’t necessarily stop the spread.

The vaccines offer around 60% protection. To control something with an r value of 6 you need at least 5/6 about 85%. That’s fully vaccinated. We’re currently about 50%. There are a lot of people that will be vulnerable. From my experience from being out and about, I don’t see much difference from where we are to being fully open. Places are packed and no one cares about masks.

They’ve had plenty opportunity to sort this mess out. We’ve been in lockdown, they’ve made the mistake before and they’ll be reversing back along the so called one way street if they’re not careful. They should have postponed the May opening, they should definitely postpone the June one. They need to get adequate testing established and keep it going from now through to next year at least. Boosters will definitely be needed as by winter it’s flu season and protection from the original vaccines could be wearing off.

I agree, it’s frustrating, not only because they’re not providing world leading easy to use tests but because they’re still incapable of doing the obvious to control it.
