Thanks for that Oillieb. They certainly seem to be expanding rapidly, perhaps too fast. Their revenue has increased at an amazing rate over the past few years, but they continue to make huge losses, which is never a good sign. Plus the fact that they have very high debt, so I suspect they are unlikely to generate cash any time soon. They clearly have a large customer base, so I just wondered how quickly that potential gap could be filled if they went under. I suppose there would always be someone willing to take over the assets and customers, perhaps at bargain price.

I very much doubt if SAT would be able or willing to take over AVN - too much baggage. Huge debt, which anyone taking it over would have to honour. And why are they in such dire straits? It occurs to me that there must be some fundamental problems there. I see that AVN are partners with SAT. Does anyone know exactly what the relationship is? If SAT are using AVN's infrastructure (i.e. satellites) to provide services to their customers, then how would SAT be placed if AVN went bust?

Trading was not halted on the initiative of ASX, it was at the request of the company. Trading rule 17.1. So the question remains, why did the company request trading to halt on ASX but not on AIM.

shar1 - what exactly is trading "haist"?

I still don't understand why it wasn't suspended on AIM as well. I think someone on this BB on Friday blamed AIM regulation (or lack of) but I don't really think that's fair. Surely it was the company's responsibility to ask AIM to suspend trading, especially as it was suspended on ASX. It seems to me a complete nonsense to suspend in one market and not the other.
