You are right that the £250k hasn't been invested yet, but the shares are to be admitted to AIM on Friday, so presumably that will be the day of the transaction. Having issued the RNS, it is very unlikely that it will not actually happen. And I notice that there are several RNSs missing from this site, not just this one. Check out Digitallook.com.

Two extracts from the RNS that may help to answer the question why the land lease is still required: "The Smelting Plant and IPP are located in Middleburg, South Africa, c. 300 kilometres from the Project." and "...as the long term objective remains to operate a 15 MW smelter followed by four 75 MW smelters..."

matt: The delay from 2015 until now has been waiting on the signed land lease from the DMR. That has been the main hold-up all the way through. Read the RNSs back to 2015 then you will get drift.

Nowucit, actually it's not the licence that they are waiting for, it's the signed land lease. And it's not really baffling because this is what the Dept. of Mineral Resources do, they delay the issue of leases and licences. They've done it to lots of companies. All we can to is wait and hope that it will come though in the next month or so. I don't think the finance is a problem, jus the lease.

Anyone going to the General Meeting? Tom Winnifrith will be there, so it should be entertaining.

Betfair, I watched the BRRMedia interview with Peter Cox on 10th February, but he didn't mention the lease at that time. So where did you hear that he had said the lease would be signed in April?

The land lease has been expected "shortly" for about a year and a half, so I will treat today's statement with a fair degree of caution. Nevertheless I have taken a small initial holding in this now because I am convinced that if/when the lease does come through, this company, and the SP, will fly. That is all that they are waiting on now. But, as I have said before, anything promised by the DMR needs to be regarded with caution.

He calls the first pour a landmark event, and says that the current market cap of £17M is 'way too low for the Kiziltepe project alone. Then there is further value to come from Tasvan and Salinbas in the future. It all sounds very encouraging.

TW usually writes negative stuff about shares that I hold. I'm not suggesting he does this deliberately, but perhaps I just happen to buy they kind of shares that he writes negatively about. Or perhaps he writes negatively about the kind of shares that I hold. Whatever. But lo and behold, today he has written a positive piece about a company that I hold shares in! So I regard this as a major change in my fortunes. I will definitely continue to hold this one.

I think we all know what is causing the delay, we are waiting on the DMR to issue the signed lease. That is what is causing the log-jam. As far a I am aware (from reading past RNSs) everything else is in place, just waiting for the lease.

I know that david, that is basically what I was saying.

And to think that AVO believed that they had solved the dilution problem when they put in a clause restricting Bracknor from short-selling! Talk about naive!

Bracknor isn't a holder, they are not an investor, they are the business equivalent of a pay-day loan shark. Read the RNS carefully, also read what Tom Winnifrith says about how they operate.

I believe you are right, evileye. And Tom Winnifrith described in detail the process that Bracknor would use in order to overcome the short-selling restriction. I'm out at the moment, and I will keep an eye on this with a view to coming back in at some point in the future when I feel that Bracknor is no longer a danger to the SP. They are certainly a damager at the moment.
