I agree meldrew. If LIGHT proves to work as well as AVO claim, then I have no doubt whatsoever that the technology will survive, as it will be taken over by someone else if AVO fails. But as things stand at the moment, I'm really not sure about the survival prospects for the company AVO.

Ian, I don't think anyone is losing faith in the technology, that's not the problem. The problem is the way this i being managed and financed, and the expectation that the SP is likely to drop in the short term because of the financing. If (or when) they succeed in producing a working, verified prototype, then everything will change. In the meantime though, I'm out, and I'll wait to see what happens with Bracknor's CLNs.

I believe the deadline for STGR to complete its due diligence is sometime this week, possibly 1st or 2nd March, not quite sure. So perhaps we can expect a confirmation RNS on 2nd or 3rd?

We've heard this story before "in a a few weeks" or "shortly". For about the last two years. So I'm not holding my breath. I wouldn't be surprised if the final part of the finance has already been agreed, subject to getting the signed lease. Unfortunately regarding the lease, I smell a rat. It seems to me that it's being deliberately held back by someone in the Department with their own personal agenda. Clearly Cox has to be careful not to suggest that.

If they are bringing someone of this calibre into the company then they must be very confident about the acquisition.

Info from CEO interview 26 January: - Pre-Feasibility study completed 2016 - Full Feasibility study to start about now (Feb. 2017) - Full Feasibility study to be completed by the end of 2017 - which can then be taken straight into the implementation phase - Following raising £9M in Nov. 2016, now funded through to completion of the Feasibility study, and somewhat beyond that. - Start production target 2019, against date of 2020 stated in Shard Analysis document. So realistically probably towards the end of 2019 or early 2020. - Nickel price expected to rise substantially between now and start of production.

According to the RNS dated 2nd February, they have 30 days to complete the due diligence. So we should hear how that has gone sometime during the first week of March.

I'm getting more and more concerned about the lease, or lack of it, and as this has been dragging on for at least a year I do wonder if they are being held to ransom, given recent reports about corruption in S.Africa. It's a real shame, because I believe that Ironveld is a good company with great potential, and they have achieved a great deal during last year. But because of these concerns I'm out for now, and will watch closely for an opportunity to get back in if the lease situation improves.

Perhaps that is too politically toxic for him to mention on the air?

Here's an extract from AVO's web site: "LIGHT uses innovative accelerators and hence does not require a cyclotron nor a synchrotron to accelerate the protons to the high energy levels needed." Surely this is fundamental to the whole concept of AVO's machine. It is the reason that they can claim that it doesn't need vast amounts of shielding that other systems must have. Surely this is what gives AVO the great technical and commercial advantage over its competitors. And as this "fact" (because we all like facts on this BB!) is so fundamental to the whole concept of the AVO system, surely at this stage of development we shouldn't need to be debating whether or not their system has a cyclotron and/or synchrotron?

Also, I don't believe that losing these orders is quite the disaster that some have made it out to be. Sure, AVO now have no orders, but neither do they have a working prototype. It this technology is as superior as AVO claim, then when they produce a working prototype the potential customers will be forming an orderly queue and the Sinophi incident will have no further consequences.

It's good news because it means AVO won't be spending much time, money and credibility on a court case that they had no hope of winning in the first place. It also means that AVO have accepted reality and is presumably an indication that Sinophi cancelled the orders because AVO were unable to provide acceptable delivery dates, which is what Sinophi claimed in the first place. So now AVO can focus on getting the prototype up and running and move forward.

cromer: It would be more helpful for those of us who are not scientists, if you could put some detail into your posts instead of simply saying that we are comparing apples with pears or whatever. Please tell us, in some proper detail, why you believe that the AVO system is NOT superior to the latest modern machines available. The AVO web site gives details of their technology's capabilities, which appears to some of us on here to be better than any of the other MODERN machines available. So please tell us precisely why we are wrong. In detail that we can understand, please.
