Yesterday, the price took a dip right at the end as people cashed in (presumably).
Today it started up a bit and climbed to 3.1 before falling back; classic profit taking IMO. I think I posted before that when it tumbled to 1.9 it had been massively oversold based on current context and commercials. it's probably about now where it ought to be (again, IMO), but def going to rise as we start to see reports of projects confirmed and risk turns to results.

If you really are a new investor then my advice here would be to turn the volume down on the board here. You'll find there are people making unsubstantiated claims that UFO is the most incredible thing in the world and worth £2:00. And others who'll tell you it's a pile of scrap that should be dropped ASAFP. The most likely truth is that there's a tremendous amount of promise here but it'll take a couple of positive announcements to really see the benefit. They're expected in the next couple of months so now is (probably) the best time to buy - IE: before positive news sends the price up.

What I will say is that (and no guarantee here) the price has hovered around 1.1p for a while now. It threatens to drop lower but always finds support. Which is very encouraging. If it makes you feel better, I topped up a little today and of my eight holdings UFO is my largest. Nowhere near my most profitable. Yet.

Keep an eye on FACTS posted on the board and steer clear of spurious claims one way or the other. Your friend is not the person who writes "This is gonna fly" or "Boom time tomorrow" or "This share is rubbish - it'll be 0.1p tomorrow".

Everyone will tell you to do your own research. Understand what you're willing to lose. And keep your fingers crossed.

I've also taken the opportunity to add a little at current price. This feels like buying Eqtec at 0.54p. Just buy and wait.

No sooner did I say that than the SP sprung up by a further 3% ! That's not slow and steady but I do still like it ! :-)

@dadean - I said pretty much the same a couple of weeks ago. I cut my exposure here by about 1/3rd as Lockdown 2 started to bite at the end of Dec, but will pile back in again with it soon. There's a lot of pent up demand as the experience of "going shopping" will be a psychological salve. I expect we've a couple of anchored months and then the SP is going to be unleashed all of a sudden. Happy to buy in at this price (once one of my other investments has done its job. Looking at you, Eurasia !) :-)

@BITTERBLUE - timescales, good friend. BMN is up about 100% in the last 2 months. I would take that any day over an inflated souffle SP that will come tumbling back in an instant. I don't know Pineapple Power at all, but (after watching many rockets fall back to earth) I'd assume there's a 90% chance of Pineapple Power being one of the biggest losers in the next day or two. People will pile on and get burned fingers.
BMN has retraced a little in the last week, but just plateau-ing after a sustained growth, and with excellent potential to then start climbing steadily again.

Give me a share like this, that you don't have to sweat over every few minutes.

Said it elsewhere before, but I love a slow and steady increase. No FOMO-fuelled panic. No insubstantial speculation. Just a nice steady uptick giving investors confidence that there's good continued interest. GLA.

"There is no volatility" - UFO is up 7-fold over 6 months, and has previously been significantly higher on speculation. So presumably you're looking at day-to-day volatility allowing you to trade in very short timescales. I suspect most here are looking at longer-term (3mths to 5 years).
"No Volume" - 260+ trades today and an average of around 30M shares traded per day in the last month. Okay, it's not FTSE100 volumes but it's not too shabby. I've certainly got worse in my portfolio (admittedly one of them is a mistake I really should sell. Or at least try to !).
"Very little sentiment" - this one's subjective. I'm sure there would be others here who'd argue there's good positive sentiment. I would tend to agree with you that, on balance, there is less sentiment here otherwise we would see upwards movement. Sentiment may grow more positive as we get closer to an update on exploration/Capstone. And hopefully after. But I'm happy to build/hold a position here BEFORE others join because of positive sentiment. And that's probably the key thing for you - you're looking for a broader positive consensus before risking your money.
"No news flow". - December included three RNSs updating on significant issues. Same in November. You want to see "no news flow" ? Try Eurasia !! :-)

Thanks for A/ not thinking I'm trolling you, and B/ answering. I was genuinely interested in your stance. It would appear you attract stung responses because you take a very different position. You're looking for fast-moving hits, where most here are taking a longer view, and recognise there's a fair bit of risk (and potential reward) attached to an early-stage mining stock.

Now we've cleared that up, everyone can read your comments from that perspective.

You then list the kind of comments you'll find in almost any board here on LSE. But yet again fail to offer any substance as to WHY you take your position. I'm not trying to pick at you - as an investor here I am genuinely (self)interested to know what reason you have for not investing.
Yes, there may be several people offering the kind of vague "it's going to fly" and predictions of value without any explanation. But since you hold a contrary view it might benefit everyone if you explained yours.

about Chris2, is that in the last month he's made 8 times as many posts in UFO where he (apparently) doesn't hold stock, as in RMS where he does. Seriously man - if you have evidence or informed opinion about WHY you think Alien is not going to rise then state your case. Otherwise just stop because you're arguing for the sake of it. I mean there's got to be better uses of your time ?

Just putting this here to see if Realism79 is a genius swimming against the tide of optimistic opinion. Or just deramping without any reasoning or evidence.
(Checks RMS bb, where yesterday he announced RMS would see "a rise of biblical proportions" and that it's "going to go absolutely bonkers tomorrow". SP on VAL and RMS is down about the same today. Reaches own conclusion).

Let's just recognise that the VAL price is quite volatile because of speculation on what is genuinely possible here. VAL could be a very exciting holding. But much rests on news of a JV or another drug trial. RMS, btw, could also do very well but has been hit lately by production delays. I hope both do well, and think they will, even though I don't hold RMS.

Even more interesting was the SP prior to fund-raise. Go back just a few months and we see that spike to 1.3. THEN came the fund raise (SP drops) followed by the LVG acquisition announcement (further fall). So we could be back to where we were in October. But with a large amount of cash. Interesting.

SP drop is just the classic reaction to a change. It plants a seed of uncertainty, so some will pull their money out. Fair do's. however, I believe sentiment will turn more positive.

If I woke up tomorrow and the SP was £35, I'd assume a share consolidation.

But on the other hand, let's dream . . .

PS: I am only still in this share out of A/ total belligerence on my part, and B/ morbid curiosity. I feel like someone two hours into a long and tedious film: staying in my seat just because I paid for it, and want to know what happened at the end.

Let's not get too excited - unless I'm badly mistaken (wouldn't be the first time) that's just a £50 buy. Although the spread is so massive it presumably couldn't be confused with a sell, at least. :-)

Man, if it made it to 2.4p today I'd be ecstatic !

If over-bought at 3.1, it's certainly over-sold at 1.8. Hope to see a correction to real value soon. IMO about 2.4p today, growing to 3.5-4.5 later in the year once de-risked by announcements of progress. Still a great stock, and terrific value right now.

I hope you're right, Brig0d00n. It's my largest holding and one of my purchases was right at the top of that spike about 3 months ago when I got carried away in a moment of hubris. Looking forward to seeing an announcement soon relating to LVG operations - progress here will renew confidence and momentum.

Quick look at the 6 month chart and there’s an interesting pattern. I know historic charts can fool us into seeing patterns but this is an odd staircase.
Mid Aug the SP hit 26p. Then, over a 1 month period it declined by about 25% to 18p.
Early Oct shot up to 37p. Then, over a period of 6 weeks it declined also by about 25% to 28p.
Early Dec shot up to 42p. Then declined to 30p (so far). That’s 25% AGAIN.

If that were a predictable pattern then there would be a fourth leap up to high-40s and it would be imminent.

Not saying that is going to happen, of course. But keeping my holding here in case it does. Or in case this godforsaken acquisition ever actually happens.

Still quite wide so MM's hedging their bets. But am I right in recalling that it's better than it has been recently ? Suggests more confidence than a few weeks ago.
