Gas bills aren't calculated by volume of gas but by kWH. You burn the gas and create 1 kW of energy for 1 hour and you'll pay about 14p. For the same time periods energy out / energy out = efficiency

6.6 kW is the gas required to produce 1 kW of electricity at 15% conversion efficiency.

Amount of gas needed = X
So 15/100 * X = 1 kW
So X = 6.6 kW

The principle is, you generate AC use what you want and feed the surplus into the grid and get paid for it.

Just to raise another slight issue, frequency conversion i.e. going from say 50 Hz in the UK to 60 Hz in the USA.
For a 5 kW device this is not trivial, you might have to spend $1,000 for a fairly large box. Now Inspirit say they can do both frequencies and also 3 phase output. So ignoring simultaneous outputs and efficiency - for the moment, it's a sure thing this will cost a lot of money and would not be for the faint hearted.

If I ever get the urge to throw my money away I'll be buying one of those !

So to produce 1 kW requires 15/100 * X = 1 kW or X = 6.6 kW of gas.
6.6 kW of gas costs 6.6 * 3.8p = 25.08 p

Therefore electricity costs 25.08 pence per kW for Inspirit. How much did you say it cost from the grid ?

Surely there are one or two intelligent shareholders that can ask some searching questions at the coming meeting?
Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be many on the board. I hope there are some that read the board but perhaps don't comment.

I'd love to attend but I'm not a shareholder. Would be interesting to hear what John Gunn has to say but he may still be in Sweden and questions will have to be postponed - who knows.

I'm thinking there will be an announcement. The usual statements that can't be substantiated and lack any detail or certainty. They need more money and also have to maintain investor interest, as per last few years.

Nothing scarred and bitter about me. I shall sit on the sidelines and watch it unfold - as I did with FLOW.

Feeling good I'm confident in what I've said and what I know, time will tell. Just look at the comments, random drivel.

A fantastic way of getting free energy you say, if that were the case and after 200 years, why am I still paying big gas and electric bills. The Inspirit Charger has 15% electrical efficiency, I take that to be for the Stirling engine. What has now been muddled by new web site is what type of energy is driving it, the maximum gas energy in has always been 20 kW. The old web site said waste heat was used BUT to produce 6.4 KW of electrical output at 15 % efficiency requires about 42 kW FROM WASTE HEAT - A TOTALLY IMPOSSIBILITY. That is why their web site was taken down and the story written again. The new web site now suggests the gas burner provides energy, there is no mention of waste heat. Also previously, and still available to read is the minor fact that while producing 6.4 kW of electrickery it still maintained (simultaneously) a hot water output of 15 kW. The word simultaneously has now disappeared and it would seem the Charger can no longer do the simultaneous outputs. This is unbelievable since other statements say that many many hours of testing had been conducted and the Charger had met their internal targets etc.

You seem knowledgeable - why are you asking questions when you use words such as torque, evaporative cooling but can't type Stirling engine into the Google box.

No John Gunn did not invest £77,000 of his own money. It appears the investors in Octagonal PLC invested 2/3 of it and John Gunn £25,000

What appears to be really vague and lacking any detail whatsoever is the license terms Inspirit have from Somemore Ltd to produce the charger. The only information I found was a brief couple of lines saying Inspirit had permission to commercialise and develop the Charger. What about produce and sell and make a healthy profit ??

Commercialise is rather vague !

You have a choice. Either common sense, facts and past history or blind faith. You've picked your road to travel down

Legitimate investors can make up their own mind. The RNS statements are there to be read. Personally I think because of:

Total lack of follow up or information regarding verification testing, field trials, patent numbers, European Gas Appliance Directive conformance, detailed performance figures, impossible performance figures, IP ownership, changing design, whitewashed new website etc.

This device will not be a viable commercial device.

How can an electric generator at 15% efficiency produce, when burning gas at approximately 3.5p per kW, electricity to match the off grid price at approximately 14.5 p per kW.

How can a device producing 15 kW from a 75% efficient boiler burning 20 kW of gas produce any electricity whatsoever.

Even the weight of the charger has gone up and down like a yo-yo.

How can any legitimate investor make a reasoned decision based upon evasive and contradictory statements. Those statements are there to be read and studied by by anyone with half an ounce of interest. Perhaps you could come to an alternative interpretation and conclude it is worth investing. Your choice.
