crh1: The charger IS the technology, Inspirit only have the one Stirling engine. If the Charger doesn't do the business then there is no other technology and no boffins to make a better one. That's why I have always said scaling up the present Stirling (Charger) engine is not easy task, especially for a couple of a money man and his wife.

While Carnot would be impressed at 64% so would the rest of the world. Things aren't quite that impressive. How about I feed in 20kW and extract 3.2kWe for an efficiency of 16% and thus leave 16.8kW to be used as thermal output ???

More realistically, assume 2kW is lost in the system to the environment, so redoing the maths. 3.2kWe/18KW = 17.7% leaving 14.8 kW for heating. As you suggest that figure is viable. The 6.4 kW they have touted i.e. a 100% improvement ... abracadabra just like that ... is less believable, implying 6.4kWe/18kW = 35.5% granted not impossible but difficult to believe 'the team' managed to pluck it out of thin air.

So you'll be selling your shares shortly !

The comments by CH seem slightly downbeat to me, I hope he hasn’t accepted defeat already. His comment “… the otherwise dead and buried Charger” can only fuel selling of the shares and unless he buys them up then it probably plays into the JG hand. I’m thinking even a seat on the board won’t guarantee answers.
This is playing out like FLOW, the charger quietly disappears from view and other ventures take its place and gain prominence. The charger is never seen in public or verified by third party reports, the world moves on and the money is gone. The faithful will keep going, it’s the same on all boards, they have to, desperately hanging on to hope because they invested too much in hard cash and the suggestive dream. Done it myself, you have to learn the lessons.
I do like the comment, by CH, about doing away with the gas but the beauty of the gas is it burns hot implying good efficiency. Extracting heat from exhausts, at lower temperatures reduces the efficiency. Now I don’t know what kind of temperatures can be obtained from large engine exhausts and what percentage of the waste heat leaves it, as opposed to waste heat picked up by oil, water and air cooling but it’s certainly not near the temperature of burning gas unless of course you could mount the Stirling heat exchanger right at the exhaust port. I should think efficiencies of 5-15% would be ballpark, would that be sufficient to make a device viable ? I don’t know.
Again guessing, the heat generated in wind turbines must be low grade heat - after collection – and the production from a Stirling - insignificant - compared to the MW generated by the turbine. Of course there are other applications mentioned . Solar is good, you can concentrate the sunlight to create lots of temperature but its been done already.

Perhaps there are reasons Stirling engines are only used in niche applications !

Oldblue: Why sell if you have so much faith in Inspirit story, John Gunn and the forthcoming boiler RNS. When that RNS drops and INSP are worth a pound a share you'll be a multi millionaire.

BUT you've just admitted to not being a true believer in the INSP story - whatever you have professed over the last few months. Stand by your believes man.

DELish: For the umpteenth time I have NO share nor shorts. If anyone can prove there are active shorts in Inspirit please do so. I doubt there will be any takers.

Misleading - what does that mean? What is a manufacturing and testing facility in Poland? Is it a back street industrial unit as Inspirit had in Sheffield or is it a 100 acre factory filled with state of the art robots ready to build thousands of Chargers for Europe's aging boiler stock? One investors vision/expectation will be different to anothers. Of course JG could simply give us a virtual tour, instilling confidence in this company, raising the SP and making interest from others e.g. CH difficult.

The latest RNS, Magmagnus states Volvo are supplying finance, where does it say or imply that is the case ? If that were the case JG would be singing loud and long but he didn't say that, he doesn't want to lie in the RNS. There is no declaration of financial or technical support whatsoever from Volvo. When and if Inspirit have a product they MAY get to test it on an actually engine. MAY is the chosen word, it would seem Volvo didn't even commit to an eventually test, so much for Volvo's support.

Is the RNS misleading, depends on what YOU think it means but really you should read it for what it says not what you think it says.

What I do know is Inspirit have a historical record of RNS statements that have failed to deliver. Anyone can read them, they are freely available and ask the question, did this statement get actioned as claimed? The answer is - virtually non did. Was it intentional, only the writer knows !

Indisputable fact coming up!

After almost 10 years, or is it longer, a commercial Stirling boiler is NOT in production from Inspirit. Also, from the very recent change to their web site, there is no production target date or even a production target YEAR.

So I leave it up to others to decide if all the other RNS statement regarding verification boilers, testing, improvements, manufacture, certification, teams, divisions etc. etc. are misleading or false. You pay your money you take your choice!

Its not conjecture its a rough calculation that supports the view that Inspirit don't have anything suitable for Volvos engines.
Therefore, it will take a lot of money and hard work to produce something. Inspirit have historically demonstrated that they are incapable of producing a working product.

The price will fall, it is based on make believe and spin and desperate wishful thinking of fools

A Volvo D13 comes in various outputs. Let's just say we take a mid range 500 HP engine and further assume it is 60% efficient, pretty generous. That means there is 200 HP of heat available to drive a Stirling engine. So if the Stirling is 35% efficient then we could obtain 72 HP x 745 W of electricity = 53.6 kWe. Thus the Volvo output would be improved by 53,600/(300 x 745) = 23.9 %. This figure is similar to the figure given in the RNS BUT BUT BUT BUT it is all hypothetical since the only device Inspirit have been working on for the last decade is the 6.4 kWe Charger ----FAR FAR ---- smaller than the 53.6 kW required for the D13 engine. So it appears a total redesign is required and since they haven't managed to get the Charger on the shelves I doubt a 53.6 kW device will appear this millennia.

I can see the technological advantage of adding Stirling engines to large diesel generators to pump up the efficiency but I very much doubt Inspirit have the will, IQ or money to succeed with only Mr and Mrs. Gunn and Mr Jagatia as the only employees.

Shareholders need to vote out the entire board to move forward. Even then it's going to take some serious money and perhaps its already too late in the day. This should have happened years ago.

If you can't handle it John Gunn make way for others that can. You've had a decade of doing nothing , time to go .

They took a model to Sweden and Volvo said " very nice proposition but we don't buy propositions ---- make it real then we are interested.
