It is obvious that Inspirit couldn't demonstrate proven technology to Volvo hence their whole concept is based upon a proposal and a model. I wonder what Volvo man thought when he asked JG how long he had been commercialising the Stirling engine " 10 years guvnor" came the reply. I'll bet Volvo man lost even more interest when JG continued " all we have to do is make our engine 8 times bigger and you'll get an extra 52 kW from your D13. EIGHT times bigger but that will make it bigger than the D13 thought Volvo man. "I'll better humour this idiot, there you go have a letter of support and give me a ring when you've built the 52 kW version"

Oldblue: It is probably pointless producing an update now since I suspect the vast majority of votes have already bee cast by proxy votes. My forecast is, CH won't gain a seat due to not least, investor apathy and stupidity. I he doesn't he could start off loading his shares immediately to gain something out of the mess. I haven't read the actual arrangements for the meeting but assume it is restricted in some way. I also assume the meeting will be very brief i.e. a simple vote on the resolutions, I don't see John Gunn answering any questions or clearing up investor concerns.

If CH gets no representation then I can't see much support for the share price, given that Inspirit has no actual WHR systems apart from simple proposals and schematics - supposedly - and no workforce to speak of. Additionally, the whole speculation surrounding the charger leaves serious doubts on its viability. So expect the share price to drop post meeting. I don't see CH continuing his mission given he'd be better off spending his money elsewhere and in less onerous circumstances. A bid for the company without knowing what they have would be ludicrous.

I was pondering the update of the Volvo RNS, it states the WHR system uses the proprietary Sterling engine technology. I assume the application will convert waste heat to useful energy – in the form of electricity.

So fag packet calculations.

Let’s assume the D13 is about 50% efficient and from a search the power output is approximately 700 HP, so there is approximately 350 HP of useful power coming out of the engine. To improve the useful power from the engine by 20% then the Stirling has to create

350 HP x 20/100 = 70 HP of useful power in the form of electricity
In kW 70 x 746 = 52.22 kW

How can the existing 6.4 kW proprietary Stirling produce 52 kW ??

It can’t - is the simple answer. The entire engine will have to be upscaled requiring a total redesign. Since the 6.4 kV has yet to make a public appearance and be proved then the Volvo project should be, by my reckoning, another decade in the making ??????????

If I were a conspiracist I'd think that all the talk of WHR and green whatsit was meant to deflect talk of the Charger. Remember it - 10 years of money commercialising the thing ready to take the world by storm and replace those millions of replacement boilers each year. A world class product ....

Maidit: A company could make a bid for Inspirit but only if shareholders sell, now if the board has kept the shareholders updated and have the shareholders confidence then the shareholders are very unlikely to sell for peanuts. So the offer has to be upped until eventually the bidding party obtain a majority, I'm not sure what percentage have to accept the offer.
Alternatively a bidding company could buy secretly but that only goes as far as 3% and then each 1% increase is notified publicly, as we have seen with CH. Of course that begins to raise the price because it can be seen that the company has an interest and may go for an all out bid. Once 30 % is reached then they have to make a mandatory takeover bid but again it doesn't have to be accepted by the shareholders. It would be difficult to buy the company for peanuts - it's all down to the shareholders. Best way to protect your interests is to have the shareholders on your side because you are achieving results for them and not simply picking up a nice pay cheque, something John Gunn seems to care little about.
