Any partnership agreement could well be conditional on a positive decision from FDA. For all we know there could be an agreement in place already , pending green light from FDA. We just don't know.

Also, I am not a gastroenterology specialist so cannot fully comment and advise on the data from the poster shared this morning - but I can tell you that, in my experience of dealing with HCPs and academia for 20 years, scientists of Prof. Quigley's calibre do not go around saying things like that and jeopardising their reputation. I am happy with the RNS this morning, yes it is not a partnership yet but looks like Blautix is again in vogue.

EdC - that is funny. :) Condition is especially severe is patient thinks that his/her ramblings have a massive impact on the SP.

IBS is the most common, chronic medical condition in the United States. Approximately 40 percent of those with IBS have symptoms severe or frequent enough to disrupt their daily lives. While the cause of IBS has not been clearly identified, Quigley’s clinical research suggests that an alteration of the normal gut bacteria flora may be a cause. His research team is working toward developing new biomarkers for IBS which would eventually lead to the development of new treatments. Quigley’s clinical interests focus on the use of probiotics for the treatment of IBS.

He has published more than 800 peer-reviewed articles, reviews, editorials, book chapters and case reports, mostly in the areas of gut motility, functional gastrointestinal disorders, and GERD. Quigley has received numerous international honors and awards. He served as Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of Gastroenterology from 1997 to 2003.

Could this have been a better RNS? Perhaps, if it read : 'Merck partnering with 4D - deal worth 2bn USD. ' ??

But the reason for the delay lies with the FDA and the new analysis of the non-placebo cohort will just strengthen 4D's negotiating position in my opinion. So yes, this is a really good RNS. Also goes some way to prove that SP meltdown after Blautix data came out very wrong.

@Winsnip88... just FYI- people who short biotech/pharma companies trying to cure terminal diseases have a special place in hell reserved for them. You know what they say about karma.

I like the fact 4D have for once explained the reason behind any delays - if it's FDA they can't do much about it (unless you think 4D are lying in their RNS and blaming FDA without reason - hope you don't think that)

Promising update! In my opinion supports the case for Blautix efficacy.

Hopefully seen as another proof of concept behind 4D and microbiome research as a whole. I reckon this is a good RNS, sign of hopefully things to come!

Crusty - if news is good then anyone who wants to sell is welcome to do so, as they alwasy are. But there will be buyers, especially if there is news that might lead to commercialistion relatively soon (i.e. Blautix partership/.licensing etc.) We need just a bit of buzz on Nasdaq, coupled with good data, to really move this stock up.

robins - anyone who wants to sell can - data is king. If data is good we should start seeing serious money changing hands from PIs to IIs (and from distressed sellers to more long-term nvestors - maybe even a big pharma buying in /increasing their position - one can hope).

Data is king - so as long we get good data (and a positive business update re Blautix) we can leave everything else to market forces.

Just my opinion - a holder who hopes data/business updates will not let us down. GLA

I am now more comfortable there are no ulterior motives behind the selling over the last week or so - once the seller finally stops (and hopefully we receive some good news) we should move up.

Synairgen is a great example of that, there are others, we have discussed this on the SNG board some time ago in great lengths.

I didn't feel comfortable watching us drop into red yesterday... at a point where we are presumably awaiting material updates any day now. All kinds of scenarios were popping up in my head, involving leaks etc.

In reality, there is 101 reason someone might be selling. They could be under pressure from their creditors, need to balance books, have a redefined investment objectives, etc. Second guessing that is pointless.

I was relieved when there was no RNS yesterday morning, I support the 'Friday is a day for bad RNS' theory. We can just hope that selling yesterday was not due to anything out of the ordinary.

ColdBrew... you think that an update that there is a partner for Blautix would have a minimal impact on the SP? Also, Q1 update on the Keytruda trial, If positive, will be huge. Understand that this week has been difficult but you are too pessimistic there imo.

You also think it would take Oliveira a year to exit? Not sure I understood you properly.

BlueCollar, that's all well and good. I am basing my decision to hold on the same logic. But inability to attract anyone on nasdaq to spend some pocket change is definitely disappointing. They are attending various investor meetings and conferences and - well there is nobody out there to hoover up distressed seller's shares.

I am hoping I am not a complete idiot for sticking with my convictions and for holding here. Time will tell.

I am invested currently in a number of stocks (only Synairgen on LSE, rest on Nasdaq) and it is not a sin not to have all your eggs in one basket.

These games will be possible until data arrives. I remember watching one of their webinars a year ago where they shared scans of patients on a 4D trial (if I remember correctly, involving a UK and US based consultant) and what impact 4D was having on their tumour progression. I was amazed, still am.

If that continues and we continue seeing positive data - good luck to anyone trying to keep this stock down.

ColdBrew - agreed, if they miss Q4 timelines for updates it will cause mass panic and they would neeed to do something big (not referring to another Jeffries conference participation here) to calm the market. Investing significant amounts of cash would probably help. But if we get to Q1 and there are still no updates I will probably have to move on, or seriously reassess what my gameplan is. I have learned not to fall in love with a stock/company and I am still a hardline 4D supporter because of what I believe are exceptional fundamentals. Let's hope we get plesantly surprised with some updates over the coming weeks.

I don't have an issue with BOD integrity. They have committed to a number of updates prior to EOY and think they will eventually deliver, they invested relatively significant cash @1.10 so in theory we're in the same boat. Just conscious that delays are sending a wrong message to the market and company needs a change of sentiment (and needs to get their mojo on Nasdaq finally). If there are delays it would be nice to explain properly (loud and clear) the reasons behind these delays (have I missed this somewhere?) and face the issue head-on, rather than just inform us of the delays - which inturn then fuels speculations and rumours.

Hi Scrambler - hindsight is a beautiful thing. I genuinely didn't sell after Blautix results as i considered data to show a lot of promise for commercialisation - as a first course of treatment for newly diagnosed, or those displaying both IBS-C and IBS-D symptoms - as also there is an unmet need for IBS-M... But it was a case of "sell the news" and we tanked (as well as people reading "not statistically significant" for the combined IBS-C annd IBS-D and panicking, if I remember correctly). As I don't trade based on what the herd is doing (i.e. panic) I waited for a bounce back but it unfortunately that never came - and then I averaged down over the coming months when funds were available as I think thi scompany might be the next " Tesla " of the biotech industry - but we need good data to corroborate that.

My biggest hope (prior to Keytruda trials data) lies with Blautix... I hope there is something in the pipeline re partnership.

Any concrete news of Blautix commercialisation - 4D SP will errupt (we can hope). GLA

Porky & Crl123 - appreciated, I don't want to be arguing with anyone here, just anxious to see at least some of that huge 4D potential turn into reality - maybe I am naive but I reckon this is one of the most undervalued stocks on Nasdaq, we just need the data to prove that now. I think we'll be subjected to these shorter/hedge fund games until the news come out. We just need to belive that news are truly imminent (and that data is good :)! )
