RE: Further Catalysts to Improve the SP22 May 2022 09:51
Fortnefvrsbrve... it's never happened to me on AIM but did on Nasdaq.
News arrives after hours and by the time retail investors can do anything at all (in pre-market) SP erupts to just a few % below what the offer from big pharma is.
I sold on the bell as couldn't be asked waiting for a couple of months for the deal to go through to make those few extra %. Funnily enough even though a lot of us sold there was no shortage of people buying happy to make a safe few % in a couple of months.
The stock/company I am referring to is Kadmon and it was, prior to the TO offer news by Sanofi, heavily shorted and people were bailing because of all the FUD and negative sentiment that was being spread on boards (for months!). When the market opened (on the day the news was announced) shorters were in such panic... posting on boards that everyone should sell immediately as 'the deal has no chance of going though'. Shorters were desperate, many of them must have lost A LOT of money, you could sense they couldnt beleive what hit them. But it was beautiful to watch them panic, they utterly deserved it for playing on people's nerves for months and nudging stressed out retail investors to sell at a loss.
A lot of us made very good money from Kadmon. I hope to repeat that experience here, no guarantees we will of course but I choose to stay hopeful - each one of us has to make that decision whether to hold for themselves as we are going through some really tough times.
Just my most recent experience and my opinion, not an expert or an advisor. Hope it helps.
