Pfg website has no mention in financial calendar about a jan 2018 trading update, it happened in previous years. Anyone know if this is going ahead? It’s important to hear about q4 trading conditions.

With woody increasing his holding by 1% it sends a positive signal outweighing the negatives now so I’d wouldn’t expect a drop tomorrow, esp with brokers raising their target prices too today. Shorts are up over 11% but I think there is a lag there showing shorters we’re betting on a fall last Friday- interesting to see if this decreases over the week or not.

ACA are preparing for the long term by cutting costs and focusing on mining what is not affected by the export ban - so negotiations are going slow. The closure of one mine might help to show the impact on the TZ economy but the mine is easy to reopen. Not expecting a quick rise just yet!

Negotiations right up to the deadline are not unusual, otherwise it implies one side got a bad deal. A dictators image has to be considered very carefully to show this for any deal to work. Looks like the waiting is almost over now just hope aca are dealing with a rational player

Redfin charge 1.5% commission! Which it says is half the usual EA fee over there. So purp then looks like a great alternative provided your house is sellable and you want to sell rather than fantasy pricing on traditional EAs encouraged by their no sale - no fee approach

Surely the fee paid to PB doesn't all go to the agent straightaway? Pass some on then the full commission if a sale goes through so they do have some incentive. Also traditional EAs can't be bothered to get a better price if there is one already as the vast bulk of the fee is already earned - better getting an offer in on another property on their books, so swings and roundabouts between the two. Forgot who said it's like a pickpocket criticising a shoplifter but that was spot on :-)

Though it went ok, next item had some cringe worthy country and western song that made me forget the previous item! CEO was nervous but he is a co-founder so not a polished performer but did come across as pragmatic and willing to listen to improve the service. Given the 000's it can save you esp in the south east the 1199 fee is worth it just to get the exposure on Rightmove- if your house is difficult to shift then I might consider paying an EA but only then.

Seems an estate agency objected to purp using 1.8% as a representative value for commission charged and that was upheld by the watchdog. Seems overblown to knock the SP down so much - prob people want to see the effect the BBC report on tonight has. I think it's an over reaction and bought at 420 - anyone can work out estate agent fees and realise they cost a packet, way more that purp charge
