PURP attracts those who want/need to sell, old-style EAs would get my business if I was willing to sell at the right price as it costs me nothing upfront and asking prices can be somewhat aspirational to say the least. I’ve viewed too many downsizers who expect a small fortune for the privilege of buying their house! Only for the property to never sell. Makes me keener to buy from purp sellers as they have cash spent already - skin in the game.

The broker recs were made without todays update so not convinced they would stand by them. Currently watching and waiting

Tinlid, I stand corrected thanks for the calculations- this does mean sub 7 post rights issue barring no new news and none is expected. It’s only the physiology of seeing such a drop but logically it makes sense. However, wonder if we’ll see a big rise in IIs positions indicating a possible takeover? Can’t think what else would move the price in the short term

Unless there is a big climb before the RI the post RI price will definitely be below 800p. Current 930p mean a share price after a full RI of 734p. I’ve sold most of my holding and am deciding on when/if to go back in - enjoyed the 70+% rise last week, that was more than enough excitement l!

Now down to 8.28% . They put me off buying Ocado a while back but at least that made me hold out this time for PFG.

If you’ve had time to type about an opportunity for free money you can bet it’s disappeared well before you get to the full stop! The SP will adjust on the day the rights convert to ordinary shares so that the market cap remains the same (all else being equal)

Fines have been quantified and a lot of uncertainty removed (not all!) is bound to be a big positive. The new shares in the RI don’t exist yet so aren’t reflected in the current SP

From what I’ve read an RI announcement tomorrow would have to come with an FCA settlement/guidance at least otherwise your asking investors for 500mln with a number of unknowns outstanding making it harder to raise the cash. Interesting to see the rns tomorrow

Aimtitan- we don’t have to wait long to find out, the RI was only in one newspaper and not picked up by the others either Sunday or Monday. The IIs are very large shareholders so what you say makes perfect sense. Maybe talks will be going on late today to see if the IIs step in or it goes to an RI

There are a lot of items that the market could take negatively on the 27th so I can’t see everything going smoothly with what will be announced. The IIs must know more than us but maintain their share after initially increasing it - I take that as them seeing value but in the medium term. Tempting to reduce my position and see about picking up shares afterwards- depends on where the SP goes before Tuesday

Well said, tinlid. I’m encouraged by the IIs increasing share holding and as I’m in no rush for my cash I’ll stay LTH, but good news sooner than later would be a relief for me. Also NSF and Morses have not risen significantly as had been anticipated so that’s a plus too imho. After Ocado’s recent performance I’m also more sceptical of the shorters as well!

“Assuming nothing more goes wrong”, place your bets please for the 27th Seriously, those numbers look great but will be a while in the making so I’m LTH but others might want to weigh up when/if they enter. It is encouraging that investco upped its holding around 2% but this hasn’t translated into any up movement in price which isn’t so good.

With the DOW down 1000 points and London likely to follow the pfg share price will get knocked around more due to external factors- the 27th feb announcement will be the next moment in the pfg story/saga.

So long as there are no more state side shinanigans!

Every article I see about buying PFG concludes that it is too risky with the FCA fines hanging over them so this must be the top priority for Le May, who is already familiar with pfg and being its ceo. So it seems like a waiting game for the fca settlements, given I’m long then the sooner the better for me.

Everything is dropping this morning! This week will be volatile- good for bargain hunters with spare cash, otherwise it’s going to be a bumpy ride.

Without new news(unlikely) the only lift will come from the overselling that occurred on the back of the collapse of CLLN, that sent out a shock to the market that magnified their lacklustre trading update.
