Metro is the most highly rated bank according to customer opinion- unless they have over the account limit for compensation no need for alarm.

If 95% of shareholders are IIs and we rarely see a notification of them trading then is it the PIs that are the cause of the volatility? They are the ones most likely to sell low as they can’t afford to lose more or afford to wait it out like the IIs.

At least the GS rating offers something - if you dilute the market cap just before the cash call was leaked by 350mm you get SP ~1180 agreeing with GS so hopefully a return to this when the dust settles. It’ll come good but what a ride! Bought this morning but jumped the gun yesterday too so will be glad when the dust has settled. One problem is where do they decide the cutoff date is for the RI? As details were leaked intra-day, causes more uncertainty.

The size of the cash call has been announced so why do we need the price? The price will come from the dilution of shares ie the ratio chosen.

They should have told the 3 banks handling the RI slightly different amounts so they’d know where the leak came from ;-)

Interesting how Michael Bloomberg himself may hold MTRO shares as the article states at the end. Have seen this before where the market prices in the worst-case RI and then it turns out to be less and the share price bounces - obviously I’d prefer that! Still, just have to wait till tomorrow morning now, can’t believe an RI would be announced after tomorrow.

No problem! Agree that for a company like metro with big ambition the priced-in expectation of a cash call is too good to let pass but hopefully not for the full 300mm. Have bought a few more this morning but saving cash now for an RI (plus political shenanigans might lead to a few opportunities in the coming months)
