We need a thumper or even two to stop the rot here. I did my little bit with 5k top-up at 23.10, but a string of Sells has taken us back down again. Anyone who watches Grand Designs will know that there are always hiccups and frustrating delays in the creation of a beautiful end product, but general patience is in short supply in this current market. You very LTHs are to be commended for your resolution and faith - I am more recent and right on my average line, but have the same agenda as red, ggis, long and 600 etc. IOG is now my sole investment, with the rest of the old portfolio thrown in for good measure. I have a gamblers mentality, but I know a good thing when I see one - and a little delay on funding news will not alter my view or actions one iota!

Like you Ramp, got a dummy quote for 215k to Sell, which implies that there are plenty of buyers around on this unexpected dip. The fundamentals here remain exactly the same, and with all the uncertainty swirling around at present, a delay in the composition of FID is perfectly understandable. Things might not be much better in Q1, so another degree of cool patience is required. Would like to see the arrangements at Bacton tidied up, and the Harvey spudding happening on time as this lends further confidence in the BOD track record. My luck is appalling at present - but that will not stop me saying GLA whilst I hold every single share!

Right dunder, not big sales and they get their addition sums wrong on LSE almost daily. I have made two Buys lately that were not even registered on HL - who brokered the trades! 25k this morning @ 27.98 is not big news, but you wonder how many more are missed. Seems to be growing angst on the board about the timing of expected news releases, but personally very relaxed as the final points of weighty financial deals need to be exactly accurate before being put in the public domain, so very happy to cut some slack to a consistently reliable BOD. GLA!

Just interesting to read the exchanges on rig construction, that I passed on the information to a very long-standing client who are experts in the supply of ocean resistant steel for rigs throughout the world. This one would not need the same spec as their Bering Strait contract - but already pitching for the steel business at the aforementioned construction yards.

With some welcome dips around today, my money was on the market - and can assure PIs that the last few "neutral" trades were ALL Buys at 28.45, plus some very likely further Buys after 1430 which were recorded red. Best price for dummy sells was 28.25 at this stage - so tight trading, and a bounce back very likely with news in the offing?

We certainly are dunder - and however it happens nice to see that aura of confidence returning to the trading pattern. Personally think that anything under 30p at present is a Buy sign - but it all depends on your average, availability of funds, and order of priorities. More or less what I expected after yesterday's exaggerated drop - and 40k at 27.55 certainly suggests mates rates to me! What followed was good news and brought back some confidence with a nice run of Buys. Might answer a couple of your queries spaz and nice to read trellis re-iterating some of the points that I made in an earlier post reference the current backdrop to energy investment and the developing story here. Classic example for you today dunder - very low volume and a few sells outnumbering Buys, certainly not enough justification to drop a penny or over 3%. But positive news is in the offing, so a low starting point will be very handy for some strong trade buys when it arrives? We shall see - but from a PI perspective it remains difficult to pinpoint an entry point for top-ups in this market.

For what its worth gator, I think your last question is one I would answer with a positive YES! We are at that stage just now when the absolute certainty of future funding of an ambitious and eminently practical project is not yet in the public domain - so, as the fundamentals are so solid, it becomes a great opportunity for MMs games - especially with an AIM company. Also GG is right to point out the great variation of shareholders' agendas - some spooked by Brexit, some in dire need of cash, some selling reluctantly etc. etc. etc. Actually, we will all be selling one day - but for much better reasons!

All good points Citizen and gator, and would personally anticipate main news being released well before Xmas to avoid the annual City and media whiteout. Talking "news" - did anyone catch last night's Channel 4 news, with an in-depth feature on the earthquake problems caused by fracking for gas in Northern Holland? Also included the potential dangers of the same applied to fracking activities in the North-West of England. The 121 interview with a representative of aforementioned OGA did not inspire too much confidence in their safety priorities either. I share Citizen's thoughts on fracking etc. and IOG's total concentration on offshore gas supply is indeed a comfort to PIs against this troubled background of future energy supply.

Well spotted Spaz, and quite reasonable to raise the question of the purchase of Bacton - which I have to assume is a key piece in the IOG jigsaw. I also wondered about the purchase from Perenco Bacton, expected by September 2018. To put a positive spin on the OGA announcement, could it be that they are now required to execute their statutory duty and oversee the intended purchase about to take place? Those on here with access to the BOD information sources could gently pop the question perhaps?

Whilst the Goodship IOG is currently becalmed in the south North Sea, it comes as no surprise that modest sized Pi type share purchases are being made at current levels. Volume may be low, but its the sentiment that counts whilst we await more ground-breaking news.

Would echo the gator and jump on this news spaz, and see nothing sinister in MR's initiative. Likewise, have done something similar in the past purely for simplification of accounts and individual holdings in my case. Stay cool and be patient - topping up gently if the spirit of bargain prices moves you!

Little fish are sweet, so hooked just 4.5k at today's Friday Bargain Sale at 29.4p. We will get these occasional dips whilst news is awaited, and significantly requests for larger tranches were being refused. Keeping the rod and line handy for further action.

We are showing both resilience and attractiveness to new buyers during this quiet spell - which is just as important for perception as more dramatic movement on the back of unfolding news IMO. Still over the median of 30p to buy this morning on a dummy, and like many others here I am awaiting funds to stiffen up the share pot before this runs away.

Its bound to be really whilst we await news of the game-changing variety. Agree with denis that Hold is the present strategy - or if you are a genuine newcomer, would say Buy at these prices. When funds arrive and a similar level is obtainable, that is exactly what I shall be doing. GLA
