Have to agree with dellfrog that, with the pipeline all checked and fit for purpose, purchase or at least a controlling stake in Bacton is an absolute must. I think that the Board must be very close to some sort of funding package, which they need to fine tune for best advantage. It would be untypical, having stated Q1 2019 as the target for announcement of the FID, for them to renege and merely resort to a wall of silence which does nobody any good. You mentioned yourself a while ago how HMRC would be smiling upon the realisation of this project bearing in mind the very tasty future tax revenues?
This, plus all the known fundamentals of gas volumes and the means of conveyance in place, suggests to me that this cannot be allowed to lie unattended - hence my firm stance as an LTH.

Mine isn't squeaking too loudly at present, probably because it had a lot more excitement on the Big Dipper at Alton Towers. And "would I lend to this outfit?" ........already done it to the tune of £80k plus of personal funds, and not asking for repayment until 2 years or so.

You could say boring, but also necessary to confound a raft of nonsense and fake news, and if you take a swift tour of forums for AIM companies with some positive basics you will read an awful lot worse in terms of mud-slinging and counter-slinging. Personally think that 600, Bandit & co do a splendid job in reminding us of the objectives and the goods on the table at IOG - and we are at that point when the under-informed can be easily misled by bursts of fake news from those with an agenda which differs greatly to that of the genuine investor.

You played a blinder there Trust, and full marks for combining bottle/belief/available funds to such good effect. I have to admit that I did not see that sharp drop coming, and had already done my topping up in the 18-22 range. But I have considered anything under 30 as bargain rates, so no wailing on that score. You also know that a good board holding a strong hand will play a telling card when required - and they have done just that and scattered the nonsense mongers. Like a number of LTHs on here, I just hope that the temptation of considering take-over bids (as there will surely be one?) at knockdown before finance arrangements are fully in place does not prove to strong. I am here for the long run - its a marathon not a sprint - with plenty more chances to beef up the holding to come..

gator - agree with absolutely all of that, and as far as information leaks go - it's almost bound to happen whether deliberately or in casual conversation. There's an old saying in the racing game that "jockeys are not allowed to bet, but their brothers or sisters can!" Missing the bottom of the curve is slightly annoying, but the sight of an upturn for all involved here is more important.

gator - when did the share movement in AIM companies ever approach logic? Also, we know the reasons for the recent slide here - exacerbated by the obvious lack of certainty in anything - but in effect, there has not been a great burst of selling here if you examine the true nature of trades within a tight spread. So - if dinsalas & Co have fillled their boots as promised at these rates - no surprise that we have drawn a line and moved back up a wee bit? I tried to join in at 18.5, but missed the boat as the SP picked up, so will try again tomorrow! GLA

That "clear statement of intent..." as said by others - is just what PIs want to hear from a Chairman and senior shareholder in the company. MR will NOT be selling his share issue in order to pay CGT - so fine leadership from the top, and another signal that normal service will be resumed in calmer times.

If you got stuck in here in through the 30s and 20s - its exciting in a slightly different way. But well played bandit for reading the current mood so well and ignoring the panic and doom merchants. You are obviously an experienced investor and unafraid to be a contrarian when the fundamentals look so right, and I have a feeling that you will be one of the bigtime winners when this gets back on track in 2019. I personally need to close down life for a couple of months now - which is no bad thing under these circumstances - but if funds were available I would be following you right in there bandido! And duster .....for the record, nobody said they couldn't raise the cash - they just did not like the prevailing rates at this highly volatile time. A better deal will be forged when things settle down in the New Year. GLA

In these situations I take great heart from the intelligent and properly informed posts just read from mcsquares and bills. Needs that kind of reading of the current scenario to fully understand the downturn in SP post RNS on the delayed FID. My mistake has been to totally dedicate the available pot to this share, but my faith will not be shaken by something akin to what old SuperMac used to call "Events, dear boy, Events!" Keep posting with your take on all developments, and GLA!

With hindsight we would be backing every winner that crosses the line, so its a pretty unavailable commodity! A bit disappointed with Thursday's RNS and the delay over FID - but really the BOD do not need to make excuses as we are in just about the most turbulent and unpredictable period since Lehman in the noughties and poor old Lament in the eighties. Securing good funding deals must be a financial director's nightmare at this point in time - but in the wider scheme of things, what difference will a month or so delay make to the overall picture here? Cannot see any marked upward SP movement in the meantime, but I for one will sell not a single share during patience exercise time - even if the hindsight merchants tell me that I should have!
