One thing for sure - it is certainly the wrong time to be selling these! Interesting comments on the general state of play, but I hang my peaked cap on Longside's abiding point about "local energy". And, comparitively speaking in view of the big slide on the main market, IOG has held up rather well.

Exactly right scotty IMHO. Combination of Brexit chaos and poor manufacturing data has taken the general market down below 7k for the first time in a long while. Got 5000 at 29.7 just before the Bell, which looks a blinding price in the scheme of things - yet could be even cheaper later this week? Willunever learn could well be right about the price drop to come - but not for the reasons that he stated. Timing an entry is tricky with this current sentiment - but the fundamentals and prospects for IOG remain constant.

Conditional apology willu - the update RNS today gave a positive drilling date, but "within 3 years" was mentioned in the May RNS. Always enjoyed the Muppet show for entertainment - but have a feeling that you didn't mean it that way? But more importantly, those with future investment plans in IOG should be pointed in the right direction by yourself presumably, and wait for the 33% drop before filling their boots? If you are correct, I will be the first to tip my peaked cap.

Take your own advice willu and read the post, which says quite clearly that to reverse your forecast of a 33% drop in SP after the FID, I predict a 33% rise in SP early in the New Year. Still struggling?

Yeah willu, we've read them all, and no mention of a drilling date for Goddard whilst you remain in denial. Bit of an arrogant assumption that you are "pointing people in the right direction" ? Seems that you are in a minority of two with your erudite friend duster - and noticeable that you ducked the 33% challenge too!

willuneverlearn - the announcement of drilling for Goddard is an entirely new statement of intent- so guess you will always struggle to see the positive. Will take you up on your prediction of a 33% drop in SP after FID, and will turn it around to a 33% increase by early in the New Year. Then we might get some of the reality that you crave?

GG and Mad - totally agree with your observations on the Goddard good news RNS. Even some of our regular posters get blase when further operational developments emerge to fill in the jigsaw. Almost seems as if comment is unnecessary because that is what we expect of this fully focused BOD? But I am quite sure that all these factors are being quietly logged by watchful experts in the gas monoliths - and post Funding announcements, I am also sure that we will see movement in an upwards direction in terms of SP. Like you Mad, pushing for the arrival of substantial funds in my language whilst this price hovers around 30. GLA

Caught up with that last night, and most impressed with AH's presentation and answers to the key questions. Also - media training not necessary for a genuine response which comes over so much better than slick pat answers. Gave a straight answer to some queries such as Bacton Terminal wholly owned, and the potential impact of Harvey when drilled early 2019 - and the enduring and massive asset of the pipeline itself. Interviewer seemed to know his gas onions - and the imminent question of funding was given proper attention. Exciting is the buzz word!

Well GG, as expected my GG has just stormed home at Ludlow! Only 3 runners, so no big prices, but happy with 7-4 for a nice top-up as we say on the IOG funboard!

GG - I admire your patience with dustbrain, which is evidently in keeping with your investment strategy! However, his futile one line answer to a perfectly reasonable question tells the story of a distracted and depressingly negative poster on this board- fortunately in a minority of one! Nothing coherent or consistent from this source, so I have given up and will watch my boy take the 3.45 at Ludlow for a much more uplifting experience.

A proper bear - particularly a silly one - would be shorting this share. I have consulted 3 City brokers on the subject and all have reported reliably that no such creature exists. So dear old duster - in IOG land the market bear is extinct!

No hard feelings dunder - and I do respect your stance. Being too headstrong has cost me dear - mainly through greed and not doing thorough homework or risk assessment, so this is my recovery shout. The equity request is in for £100k and whilst they are the same as Avacados in Lidl - i.e. 3 for a £ - I will be going on the offensive very soon to almost double the holding and dream of that Aston with Longside! Appreciate the cautionary notes from dunder et al, but this "only lose what you can afford" line is not the basis of the success stories in investment over the years. Its about seeing an opportunity, doing all the homework you can, and then backing your judgement to suit your own pot and sense of adventure. Weighing up the element of risk here - which is mainly about external events beyond our control - I have decided to go full on to my limit at this stage. With basic living costs covered from other sources, you could say that my approach is "affordable" - but still a serious punt in my language. Very likely 600, and no big surprise if you have guessed right. As for JaiBaba, if I were in your shoes man, that spare property would have gone already and stuffed in here whilst the price lasts. Cannot see the big risk, and to put it in perspective, I am thinking of equity release in my sole live-in property to double my stake in here.

Since the £32.5k @ 32.5p was an obvious Buy, backed up by a raft of Blue - seems very odd to drop the Bid by 0.5p?

With the regular mention of £2 and eggs in the basket - maybe just a co-incidence, but you can buy half-a-dozen Burford Browns round these parts for exactly £2 !! Thing is not to drop the basket, and thankfully mine is a lot more manageable than yours GG, but if you need a hand let me know! Thought Bacton was a done deal, so why the question marks?

Good point GG - not sure how it would raise market cap value as such, but it's a brilliant way to secure funding, and points yet again to the confidence that future customers have in the supply chain from proven resources via fully owned pipeline integrity.

Duster more one of those indecisive types who drifts with the tide, pretends to be a buyer when things are rosy - then a knocker at the slightest hiccup. We call them Grandstand Jockeys in the racing game - always know better but with no record of practical expertise. Best ignored really - and you are so right Jai about it being a great day, primarily because the share has shown its resilience as well as its quality by bouncing back from an over-reaction to a perfectly acceptable RNS.

Sound advice 600 - but I think that you meant "removes all possible doubt" rather than "confirms"? Slip of the keyboard - but nice to see the rational posters put today's RNS into proper perspective rather than the predictable knee-jerking of the doubting thomases and conspiracy theorists. Agree in particular with Woogie's point about the regular delays in steel fabrication, and in the scheme of things what is a 6 month delay on a project as well progressed as this one? Got lucky myself as I could not get a top-up at my chosen price of 34.5 yesterday - so well pleased to execute at 32 today. Not just patience - confidence too!
