denis - Q1 & Q2 Don't know. Q3 Very uplifting. Q4 Nothing built in to this SP, its far too cheap. Q5 There has to be. Q6 The herd may well turn up but it is serious City investors who will send this onto different levels. Hold on to your hats!

At least we are back to some sort of volume today, but with the Bid for as many as 100k @ 35.65 still exceeding the Ask price, the obvious conclusion is that sellers are not around and that the MMs want your shares. Very difficult to read the Buy/Sell divide today, but I would guess that nearly all trades @ 35p + are in fact Buys. We are looking at a gathering bull trend, so have a nice weekend all IOG investors!

Brokers on AIM O & G shares always behind the pace and well worth ignoring - finncap seem to be the only ones clued up.

Low volume and stuck around the 35.1 mark. Could this be the lull before the storm?

Quick check tells me that - incredibly - it is very marginally higher to Sell than to Buy!!!! No wonder we get confusion reigning for investors on this share.
Nice to read some positivity from regulars on this board, and concur with the views of mole/Ggis/scored and others. Just hope that the PR effort is strong and well positioned when first gas is announced later this month. GLA

Grafack - the only implications are that it is misleading! To explain once more - if trades to Buy are transacted at a level BELOW the mid-price for the spread advertised on this board, they are recorded as Sells. Simple tracking of real prices by inserting dummies or even making one's own real trades reveals the actual Buy/Sell differential. On a very tight spread such as todays, the board gets it consistently wrong and virtualy all trades today are Buys. The mistake has been highlighted by the move upwards of the Ask price.

virtually non-existent with all 4 trades this morning @ 35.1 Buys recorded as Sells!

Around 80k worth of trades wrongly recorded as Sells today - including 2 Buying tranches of mine. Puts the true figure of aggregates about level, which is why the Bid stayed firm at 35p.

Good day for trading with very narrow spread of 35.1/35.175. Had to take advantage with a further top-up @ 35.175 which will show as a Sell - so snap Denis!

Well played Denis - surprised by the slight dip this morning so followed suit for a nice top-up at 35.25p. You know it makes sense!

Hi GIGS - reference your 10.02 post agree that we will get a different content of contributors to the board during and post first gas announcements. In fact, one rather nonsensical deramper emerged yesterday to fly directly in the face of current facts and momentum, so had to be dealt with. Naturally, we much prefer properly presented interpretations of the key issues at this crucial stage of company development, but forewarning is a good idea as some investors can be swayed by the rampant negative posts that we see on other boards.

Interesting to note the importance of controlling flow rates - and many thanks for the highlighting of this aspect by yourself and other contributors. GLA

toro - as previously explained, the advertised spread on the LSE site can be far removed from the real one, leading to several misinterpretations of the nature of trades. For example, today over 36p was being paid for 50k Sells, with these reported as Buys as they tipped over the half-way line. It also happens in reverse, so you need to enter the occasional dummy to ascertain real prices. GLA

Nice try JH, but I would say exactly the reverse on this one. Train is ready to leave the station, but the whistle gets blown in another fortnight or so. And with gas prices at a record high, and some 5 times the profit figure logged on the old spread sheet, the most basic maths students will welcome the news and act accordingly. Main stream media will latch on to the story of a new UK gas provider riding to the rescue, and the prospect of a first divi will also be on the agenda. Each to his own, but as an LTH with survival medals I shall be re-investing at appropriate advance levels.

2 or 3 new investors on first gas news?? You should know the sort of numbers that makes up a herd - but this time I reckon you might be hurtling towards a steep climb!

Current spread narrows to 35.80/35.96 as trading warms up yet again. Would underline my forecast in the previous post.

Quite right viable - it looked a wee bit pricey to me, but topped up late Friday as I could see it heading in one direction. We have had 40p target bandied around for some time now - and I can see us attaining this BEFORE first gas news.

scored - maths are compelling and speak for themselves. Having considered early Buy prices on the high side, I cancelled that view once the spread narrowed and made the last trade a Buy before the bell for £5k @ 35.45. Just could not find anything better to do with the spare funds!

mole - it was a risk, but we were making such a noise on here about lack of news and information that I had a yen that we would get something soon, and the prices on crunch Monday were too tempting to an old gambler such as myself. And rubbing it in on Tuesday with the opening trades was not difficult just one hour after the RNS.
Looks like I have underestimated the appetite for extended Buying today though - thinking 34.96 was toppy early on! Can't be right all of the time.

scored - with a share you believe in, advantage should be taken when it drops on market sentiment alone. Also, we had an RNS which confirmed a date we have all been waiting for - so the timing worked out well! Low volumes now with wide spread of 34.96/34.26 so they want your shares once again, but a little bit toppy to buy unless you are a newcomer IMHO.

Volumes are down today, but no matter - they are asking 34.85p and Selling at 34.15p to prove my point that they are low on stock. Too high for me to play at this juncture.
