EPL on U.K. oil & gas profits extended for another year until 2029. They really are going to drive our energy industry into the ground - clueless politicians and they won’t realise what they’re doing until it’s too late.

Make the Falkland Islands even more attractive for me and thankfully the FIG are trying to get their energy industry off the ground rather than end it.

I remember you Boro. There was a certain energy about the Falklands oil dream and the investor community who got involved in the years just before and after the first discovery. Something I’ve never seen before or since, or with any other share. Hearts over minds for sure. A terrible way to invest with such sentimentality but I know exactly what you mean and I felt the same. Let’s hope it finally pays off for those who’ve been around for so long and it would be great to see more old faces return if and when things start moving again.

Yes after all these years it’s a strong hold for me to watch the whole story play out (good, bad or ugly).

Some consolidation here wouldn’t be a bad thing. Closing the week above 13p would be a good start.

A penny rise isn’t that exciting but seeing all the pieces of the puzzle starting to come together certainly is. 15p looks to be the key - if that’s broken over the next few weeks or months then things could get interesting.

I know everyone will have their own price targets and as a few people have been discussing, protecting your money and taking profits is key to successful trading but from a personal point of view, having held Rockhopper shares since 2009 (15 years is a long wait!), I ain’t selling now so that others can reap the potential for big gains. To be honest I’d almost written these off a few times anyway so it feels risk free! I would anticipate lots of ups, downs, rumours and market manipulation in advance of FID and certainly first oil but if Navitas & RKH can pull this off then I want my part in it.

By the way I had a bit of correspondence with Sam Moody regarding the Navitas “delays” mentioned in the FIG document. He was very careful and guarded in what he said because he obviously can’t provide price-sensitive information but the gist of what I got was that the current timescale remains FID this year and first oil in 2026 but it’s dependent on finance. Nothing has materially changed from what we’ve been told already although I think the EIS submission has been later than anticipated (still not in yet) - that’s the focus at the moment.

So it’s all down to Navitas, it didn’t sound to me like there had been any material delays to the timetable. Let’s hope they can get the financing sorted asap.

Oh and the OM arbitration hearing is still scheduled for next month.

From memory it shot up the following day as well (possibly doubled?) before the flash crash.

There was a lot of froth and excitement back then and the market cap did get overblown but it certainly looks extremely cheap in comparison today.

Are we seeing the very beginnings of a re-rate?
