All we see at the moment is what the Buy Side are not doing ! Of course BH could stop all this conjecture immediately, why they don’t is puzzling !

Ha, it probably helps to have a Conservative Life Peer as your CEO who is well liked in the City and regarded as a very smart guy (Simon Wolfson), yes a rarity amongst Life Peers but he’s steered Next PLC into a very strong position with feet in many camps ! Unfortunately for Kamani he’s not ‘old school’ so has to do things the hard way !

Hopefully Sales will be a little more than adequate ! ! . The consensus forecast for YE 22 is 29% Sales growth & 25% the following year, all whilst maintaining EBITDA at min 9.5% . Do all that, or a near miss and you should be OK. Anything wide of the mark may not be pretty. That TU is eagerly awaited .

Surprised if no interim trading update is provided before YE if only to confirm trading remains comfortably within guidance, given current weakness in SP. Certain Directors can’t be too happy seeing their investments dive , in particular Iain McDonald having bought 200,000 shares this year @330p who’s particularly unlucky having also received near 300,000 Hut Group shares when valved over 600p ! Pressure on Chairman Kamani must surely be growing, if only to steady investors nerves and invite others to invest knowing all remains good !

Like others I was not expecting this, indeed had written off RKH long ago as thought Navitas would have walked earlier, or at least on the back of Harbour pulling out ( which was always going to be their plan ) but clearly they now see a compelling financial case here , no doubt underwritten on the back of longer term OP projections. Just need the OM decision to now fall in RKH’s favour this could get quite interesting.

Relax, Javid is on the record for saying the UK would never introduce mandatory vaccination. Oh forgot, we did at one time have a Compulsory Vaccination Act, back in 1853 !

Roughly 25% of critical care beds in England are occupied by Covid patients and 75% of those have not been vaccinated, according to the latest data up to July this year. Apart from anything else thats quite a financial cost on the NHS and thus every tax payer. Given a choice most, I suspect, would prefer to accept the consequences of their own decisions rather than being mandated. One consequence could be financial, as it seems those preferring not to be vaccinated are placing a rather unfair burden on the rest of society, which seems to be a cause of growing resentment.

@nuri. Maybe BH will prove immune to supply issues I don’t know, as I haven’t bothered trying to understand raw material ( fabric / fastenings) supplies to the myriad of their UK Mfrs, preferring to await news from the ‘horses mouth’ so to speak. And in that respect just slightly surprised no interim update yet, (as in 2019) given the SP weakness, which most shareholders probably feel they deserve , rather than having to wait thro xmas . Perhaps next week otherwise further SP slippage wouldn’t surprise. Anyway GL.

See one US Retail Discounter ($3.2bn Market Cap) dropped 20% today, after missing Quarter guidance due to “supply chain issues”….. commentary like that just adds to overall Sector nervousness, irrespective of Company specifics. Need to keep on toes here .

Vittorio Radice ( Italian Retail Guru ) says customers want “more than just a product, they want emotion when shopping”, thus for some ‘online’ is a socially sterile activity that can’t match the overall experience of shopping with family / friends etc. Question is as we move out of this Pandemic what effect, if any, will it have on online retailers as customers again seek that social interaction. Are we already seeing a realignment in BH away from a ‘Growth’ stock to one which is now being more realistically valued. Seems the Market is awaiting to see if it’s latest figures still justify its previous status !

Institutions would likely say ASOS (Management /Corporate Governance /Guidance) but Retail followers seem to fancy BH thinking they can replicate pass growth …..the next TU will likely tell you who’s right !

Well if you do some Peer Analysis you’ll see where the Market has taken their Competitors indicating further SP weakness is possible unless the BoD provide a positive interim TU fairly quickly to prove they’ve been less effected than others in this sector, which could induce a Relief Rally. Remaining silent is probably not a good omen at this stage. Personally I’d await news before committing.

Interesting that OPEC today said that “the meeting remains in session,” meaning they can “make immediate adjustments” should the current market conditions shift. That should help underpin prices. Remain relaxed.

Just wonder if Kamani is losing interest here, it’s not as if he needs the cash any longer….see his latest Media investment should return him circa £30m and that’s not to mention his other investments all of which seem to be outpacing BH. Maybe time for him to move on.

We all know the Markets look forward and with consensus forecasts as they are there is clearly concern there could be a surprise. The forward earnings multiple currently looks reasonable and will likely peg back any significant SP rise unless they can surprise to the upside. In 2019 they issued a TU on 3rd Dec to confirm all was good….if no update this year read into that what you want !

Will be interesting to see what happens with the first tranche of 16m+ shares that have just fallen outside of lockdown…hopefully someone doesn’t need the money !

BOO down 45% YoY……NEXT up 20% YoY……work out the reason and you’ll realise why the former has slipped !
