The topic of climate change was raised earlier and dismissed as a scam, which it certainly isn’t .

I would agree that no one is 100% in agreement about its cause(s), but it is certainly having measurable effects.

One is regarding the reliance on fishing for the FI economy, which is about 60% their GDP, or thereabouts.

Climate change is having a measurable impact on fishing around the FI, principally on squid, with 2 species in particular contributing most of the revenue, but there are other high value fish, which are also affected.

The F Islanders are very well aware of this, and some alternatives have been suggested to fill the revenue gap, considered and rejected, except for oil/gas, which is the favourite for future prosperity.

For those who believe that fossil fuels are the Devil’s fast lane to Armageddon, choosing fossil fuels as their best survival option might seem rather odd, but that is what the Islanders have done, to make them the richest, per capita, in the world.

This completely matches their capital budget plans, as the fishing revenues diminish, but the FI standard of living hopefully improves and perhaps their population, which would otherwise stagnate as their already dilapidated infrastructure disintegrates further, with reducing means of paying for and maintaining it.

So by all means poo-poo (price of oil twice) climate change, but it seems to have helped the F Islanders to vote in favour of SL and beyond.

Nn, you're going to have to do better than that and explain why (i.e. show your working).

While there have been many miscalculations and wrong information, that doesn't make climate concern a scam. You will have to explain why sea temperatures are rising, certain species are moving to colder climates and some species are struggling to survive, etc., etc.

FWIW, which isn’t much, I’m inclined to Sunday 16th for Navitas, with a BOOM! RNS on Monday 17th for RKH.

Quite a few automatic trades, pushing the sp down and no doubt some of those responsible then using the opportunity they have created to buy a few more on-the-cheap.

If a market manipulator can temporarily push the sp below an obvious resistance level, that could trigger some Stop Loss instructions, offering some more opportunities for the manipulators.

There are some posters trying to show off their superior knowledge, especially about the looming stock market collapse (there are bound to be corrections from time to time, that's just part of the cycle), the looming oil glut and the collapse in oil price and that SL FID won't happen because Navitas will suddenly realise their stupidity - ignore them all.

Throughout the period Navitas have been working on SL and the FI, hydrocarbons have been the firing line. Navitas know very well the World oil/gas supply and demand situation. They know this better than any know-it-all poster on this BB, which is why they are pressing on with SL and beyond.

So stay calm and if the sp does fall a bit, use it as an opportunity to buy some more.

With not much else to think about, after all this time, I have been contemplating how things might go.

As operator, I imagine Navitas announcing FID, very possibly on a Sunday, with RKH following with an RNS on Monday morning.

Not long after that, I could envisage a group of them heading off to Stanley for a joint statement and media opportunity in the FI.

Maybe staged around Government House, particularly as a certain Governor named Moody started building Government House in 1845.

Whatever the details, I would expect the focus of attention to be turned onto the FI for the media opportunity that probably wouldn’t seem right from anywhere else.

That could fit a late November/early December FID announcement by Navitas, followed by the ceremonial/media stuff from the FI, followed very quickly by the election.

Postponing the FI election to December must be a bit of a clue.

They don’t do that just because the Governor wants to have his holiday in November.

How often has that been done before?

Samula, your Q1/26 scenario 3 doesn’t explain why the FI election has been postponed from November to December 25.

Whatever others have posted, there’s no way Navitas can deliver SL without help from an experienced partner.

Ian Ramsey and his team are A1, but for the next phase SL needs greater depth of experience and resilience.

However good Ramsey and his team are, there aren’t enough of them and I always think that Ramsey doesn’t look the fittest of people, so one can’t rely on so few people, however good they may be.

As for the wider NFB, RKH/Navitas haven’t got time to hang around, so they need to get that appraised ASAP, in my opinion, which is what Marlon posted a few weeks ago.

I would add that from today, if you wear a hat, be sure to hang on to it.

That’s what Sam said and he also said FID will be later in 2025.

What intrigues me is what else Navitas could announce at the same time, such as a new JV partner for the SL project, a JV partner (perhaps the same one) to open up the rest of the NFB - I would expect plans for opening up the SFB would be for later, but you never know, etc.

In the mean time, it is a bit strange that none of this has been formally stated by now.

As FID has yet to be announced, maybe there are details we don't fully understand.

I agree with BlueDefender's version. It is more likely to be for listed shareholders on a future date from today, possible at FID.

Marked, you may be right in saying that it’s insane, but it still needs to be stated in detail, which so far it hasn’t.

Something like this can’t just be left to assumptions, however logical they may seem .

Unless I've been asleep and missed it, I think we're all waiting for that little detail to be announced.

I'm assuming any shares I acquire before that announcement will be included in my part of the Offer.

We don't even know how many new 53p shares we are to be offered for how many shares we hold - I seem to remember someone calculating it as 1 new 53p share for every 44 shares held at the qualifying date, but I don't think that has been ratified publicly.
