It's quite important not to judge the goings-on in the region from a white-English perspective, as one would be likely to come up with the wrong answer.
Macri has been doing just about OK, considering the absolute mess he inherited, but from the peoples' point of view, it hasn't been great, with inflation, a creaking economy, and austerity in an to attempt at a recovery, which hasn't happened so far, although that would have been a miracle in less than 4 years.
It's likely that the awful Cristina will stand in October, but no idea what her manifesto will be and whether the masses would really prefer a return to her style, when they look at their Latin American neighbours and how they're fairing..
Definitely something to keep an eye on and as I posted earlier, a potential cost to the FIG, having to augment its defences.
Working together with a friendly Argentine government to exploit their oil/gas reserves, would be a much preferable option, as that would provide the FI with resources that otherwise they'll have to provide for themselves.
However, some may argue that might be the best option, because if the FI become too dependent on an unreliable neighbour, that could spell disaster further down the road.
