Thanks P65, that makes total sense, im sure Gunner will be thinking along those lines, and the rest of Australia needs the energy now! Renewable energy and the infrastructure to support it will take time and money to develop, this will give the NT both of those, and Australia will have the energy they need, providing Gunner makes a decision soon.

Gunner will be able to sell this to the public as a win-win situation, he will put the Territory first by allowing fracking it in highly regulated circumstances in tightly prescribed areas, he's been practicing that line enough recently! I think the decision will land in a couple of weeks. After all the political spin surrounding this decision, his popularity will be off the scale!

All this was addressed in the inquiry anyway, but there may be pressure on the government for the development to be carbon neutral.

Prince Charles is very environmentally friendly at his farm down in Highgrove, so I imagine the topic of fracking won't be too high on the agenda. It's always seems an oxymoron when you look at his carbon footprint, I would think he uses more energy than most people on this planet!

I believe that once the final report has been carefully considered that Gunner will put the Territory first by allowing fracking it in highly regulated circumstances in tightly prescribed areas. This can be a win-win scenario for Gunner, he can keep both parties happy by making this move, and maintain his support. He would look rather foolish if he didn't do so, and Gunner is no clown.

Fridays price rise in the UK was possibly down to private investors buying in to the start of the new tax year, and all appears good for the Fracking ban to be lifted (in our eyes), so a good option for many. Listening to the recent radio interviews, it seems the decision is likely to be made in the next couple of weeks. I'm looking forward to seeing where the share price will land after the moratorium is lifted.

Good to see the SP moving up to where it should have been sitting months ago. After government funding cuts, the NT government are now desperate for money, they are sitting on a huge gas resource which Justice Peppers Inquiry has said is safe to go ahead. The rest of Australia needs the gas, and NT need to entice workers to the area. The pressure is on Michael Gunner to pull the trigger, there don't seem to be any more excuses not too go ahead. Onwards and upwards from here on!

Thanks Marsh, the forecasts are looking very good for LNG, especially with China replacing their coal burning industries with gas. India and the rest of Asia will be coming on board soon too. The gross best estimate of gas in place at a world-class 496 trillion cubic feet - for the Velkerri B shale horizon, that's just one potential play on the 16,000 sq km acreage. There are multiple play horizons within the Beetaloo. The primary target was the Middle Velkerri and we drilled back in 2015 and repeated again in 2016 and within the Middle Velkerri there's an A, B and C shale but this report only talks to one of those plays - the B shale.. 496 trillion cubic feet (TCF) just for the middle Velkerri it's a pretty good place to start." Origins report gave an estimate of the range of recovery possible of that gas in place, and O'Quigley says they have taken a relatively conservative view, considering various factors, and put that at 16- 17% which amounts to a "staggering" 85 TCF with a recovery factor of 16%. Some estimates have been made on here for the SP, they range from $2 to $10 per share, I'll be happy with any figure between those estimates. I

China's move away from coal-fired power plants is putting upward pressure on prices for liquefied natural gas. Spot prices for LNG are climbing in Asia as China imports more of the cleaner-burning fuel to combat air pollution. Spot prices have jumped 110% in the six months through mid-January. The rise is expected to ripple through energy markets across the region, pushing up electricity costs for households and manufacturers alike. Chinese authorities are shifting the country's energy mix away from coal toward natural gas to clean up the air, but supplies are tight. The Chinese government is increasing purchases in the spot market, as there is not enough LNG to meet heating demand in the winter. China's LNG imports jumped 46% on the year to 38.1 million tons in 2017, exceeding gas imports delivered by pipeline for the first time, according to data from the country's customs agency. China's LNG imports are still relatively small compared with Japan, which imported 83.6 million tons last year. But China has overtaken South Korea to move into the No. 2 spot.

I'm expecting the SP to double once the moratorium is lifted, then I hope Falcon can hold on long enough to prove up assets before the big boys come knocking on our door. It will be interesting to see how the gas companies react to the report, particularly to the key recommendations that must be implemented prior to any further exploration approvals being granted. Items listed in table 16 don't look too onerous, could it be that exploration may be going ahead this year?

The final position of the Panel is that while there are some elements of a SREBA that must be implemented immediately, there are others that can proceed in parallel with the relatively small activity footprints associated with exploration activity. This is especially true given the protections that will be afforded by the mandatory implementation of improved well integrity construction and management systems, water and air (methane) quality monitoring and public reporting regimes, before approval can be given for any future hydraulic fracturing, including that associated with exploration.
