Absolutely against stamp duty waiver, even though I bought back my TW. shares this morning because they dropped back enough. It already exists for first time buyers like my youngest who got the keys to his first house yesterday. I hope they are not going to waive it for second home owners and landlords because all it will do is increase the cost of a house for first time buyers and local people again like last time they tried this. Cafe vouchers I think are a great idea. Its one of the few things likely to help keep high streets alive.

The Stockopedia stance seems to be its all utter tosh coupled by absolute hypocrites. Frankly all those holier than though finger pointers have all been guilty of these accusations they accuse others of themselves. The legislation's is there and we still don't know who is guilty of what at this stage , but clearly journalists, as usual have got a lot if not all of it wrong.

Morning. I have to admit the various shenanigans are at the very least intriguing. Frankly I am pretty relieved to be out of Boo (with marital profit). Seems more like a rodeo act than an investment. Andrew Brigend (Alleged involvement with rogue supplier, and renting but not paying to live in brother's country pile)) and as yet unproven accusations of £3.50 per hour wages. About 40% currently predicting below £2 today, 40%predicting above £3.50, 10% total wipeeout, and 10% just stirring it all up. Does thank make 100%? The one bright spot today S, apart from the sun. TCM up 12%. Made absolutely no difference when the Swiss bought in last week, but 1 purchase for 800 quid and up she flies, and absolutely no news!

More than likely M. The thing is all these companies including M & S and Primemark transferred their manufacturing bases to China and Asia to get more competitive product. The difference now is the sweat shop factor has made its way back to uk, and saves the most of transportation. Boo have made a real booboo. Depends how they handle it and whether the government want to make an example. There has been enough ignored suspicion and it always seems to take an undercover journalist to expose what everyone knows is going on anyway. Lot of hypocrisy, but someone has to be the fall guy. No question that TW. is a very well run and now rich company. I should have sold when it spiked to 155, But there again might have gone back in even bigger on the fall. No dividend till at least next year. Had rather a large amount tied up going nowhere in TW, so have started to deploy elsewhere. Don't laugh but even took a small position back in AFX. The boss has taken the opportunity of the depressed price to transfer some of his holdings to family and a couple of investment trust appear to have done some share shifting in their holdings too. Must be some business news soon, like they've lost another 30 million lol. Also took a smallish position in Naked Wine who are expanding in US, thats a huge market. The sp rocketed after selling off Majestic shops greatly reducing overheads. They support smaller wine growers helping bring product to market at a good price. Have been impressed so far. Majestic was a revolution in its day and expecting the same from Naked. Hopefully the OCDO of wine. Bit pricey at the moment even after slight fall back, but would definitely go in more on any further sell off . GL

Yes T. I took the opportunity to offload TW this morning at my buy in price. It fell to £1.37 Friday and won't be surprised to see it beat that before summer is out. I really don't think house prices or activity is as buoyant as they claim, and even if the stamp duty is suspended it won't be for long. A lot of bluff and bluster a la Boris style this morning. Glad his dad got off to Greece. Hope they keep him there

Almost surprisingly from house builder this morning : Barratt said following the reopening of its sales centres, the company has seen an increase in lead volumes, which are running at levels in excess of those achieved in the same period in 2019. In the six weeks since reopening it achieved a sales rate of 0.63, marginally lower from 0.69 net private reservations per active outlet per average week, with no "discernible change in pricing levels". The housebuilder said its forward sales position is strong, with total forward sales as at June 30, at a value of GBP3.2 billion, up from GBP2.6 billion at the same time last year, equating to 14,326 homes, up from 11,419 homes. It seems to be a bit of a pattern V. Every time they announce a sector going back to work it seems to fall. Its happened with house builders and construction, and now restaurants pubs and hospitality. I guess it means paying their own way again which is going to be tricky for the first few months. Our local say its completely pointless reopening as it would be impossible to implement even the minimum social distancing. I agree T, although FOMO never really goes away. I think at the moment we all have a firmer eye on the short term, or long term trades are short term trades that went wrong. Its very difficult to know when to cut and run. Pretty rare that a share goes up the moment we buy a stock as much as we would like it too. After all someone is selling it to you for their reasons too. I've had fairly big falls that have bounced back, and ones that I'm glad I got out of. I remember a trader telling me the worst thing for a newcomer is instant success. Very true
