Another day another argument. I thought Wally had retired. Maybe he has unfinished business: "The people working at British Airways are indeed passionate about the company and want it to succeed.
"I genuinely believe they want to help but they have been betrayed by their trade union leaders and their elected representatives who have refused to engage in consultations from the outset.
"The truth is, indeed, rarely pure and never simple. British Airways is mired in the deepest crisis the company has ever faced and is acting in a perfectly lawful manner.
"British Airways is fighting for its survival, in the face of overwhelming and unprecedented challenges, while respecting the fundamental British value of the rule of law.
The politics of flying. I think is pretty clear that in a desperate situation Mr Walsh rightly or wrongly is seizing the moment.
I think of the two EZJ seem more focused on getting up and running. I am surprised how cheap their flights are. Just about every flight to Greece is full or nearly full for July. Not quite sure what its going to be like when you get there though. At least their is some sanity about the 2 metre rule now. The idea that leaving the middle seat out would make the slightest difference to passengers locked in a flying pressurised capsule seems about as naive as most of the PM's ideas on handling Covid. Nearly as naive as the CO of EZJ telling us that with a mask it will be 100% safe. The idea of being stuck ill in Greece is not top of my agenda, but I fully understand the younger generation just bursting to get out there as I did in 1972 when there was one toilet and one shower for the 300 or so of us sleeping on the beeches of Mykinos and a sign saying no clothed people welcome here, and nakedness was an arrestable and custodial offence! I've always fancied a trip to the Faroe Isles, part of my nordic heritage. Unfortunately I dont think they are ready for tourist yet and with my first very tolerable dip in the sea yesterday I can't see the pleasure and hassle in travel just yet. looking forward to to the fickle games of the market today, which I seem to be becoming more resigned to .
