Obviously the lock down will show some kind of blip but oils demand has increased hence the recovery in price. I think in October we were thinking uk stocks were bargain prices as far as the main index is concerned and that looks to have caught up now. Would expect it to over shoot a bit. Its M&A activity or expectation that will continue to drive the market, for now. There is a huge belief that the vaccine is a couple of months from returning us to normal on current understanding and as we head out of winter wth spring almost tangible. If the virus continues to mutate to the extent that the vaccine becomes in affective then we have a problem. So far pharmacists have been adamant that firstly they can easily tweek the current vaccines and secondly there will be many more and possibly simpler vaccine available for next season now that we accept that this virus or forms of it are here to stay. The market is clearly confident that they have it under control now and don't want to be caught out if there there is a sudden drop in transmission as a result of the vaccine campaign, even though at the moment the figures show it appears to be running wild! Have to admit we did well compared to Europe. Uk 1.3 million jabs , France 0 .3 million jabs to date.

V. I used to list all my trades for the the taxman. Then I got an accountant. To do it on line. Only costs about £150 and saves me a load of aggro. Just put down income, divs, interest, a total loss and total profit on trading, total disposals and overall profit or loss for the year. Seems to work ok. All ways have that nagging feeling they will want to be more scrupulous one year. They will randomly pick on people. I have friend who is a professional classical musician. About 20 years ago they investigated his earnings of £15,000 after his first three years and pinged for his excessive CD collection as expenses for christ's sake. I should think they love traders just think of all the stamp duty they collect!

All in all a reasonably successful year after thinking I'd stop trading altogether after the election and before Covid struck. S I think they are suggesting financials are the worst sector effected by COVID, part from fishing where all get a couple of extra cod each, if there are any after the dutch ship factories have finished hoovering them up. Not that I'm trying to cause another attempted invasion by the Dutch up the Thames estuary. Just telling it as is!

I find its point scoring system a bit misleading and like charting can be well behind the gain line. No level 2 live feed. Not sure how helpful that is anyway, because number 1 there can be a lot of fake orders on it to manipulate prices.
All in all I will probably sign up for another year.

Yes definitely feeling sort of relieved I think. I know there is much to sort out still, but kind of feel everyone is 'on it' now as they say. Usual fall out after placing but all directors heavily in skin, or skinned in, whatever the new hip investor language is. Has many mining customers and now offering earth removal too. Two brokers have forecast 80% uplift.
