So the GG have rescinded the termination, which has put us back to where we were when notice was served earlier this year, which is a major relief. They have done this purely as a result of the pressure that has come from the US, so, Zaza has performed a miracle imo. But, given past performance, he clearly hasn't done this for us. His previous actions have proved that he is completely selfish, but, we are aligned with him and so hopefully we can benefit eventually. As Mole rightly, accurately and eloquently has set out, there are many challenges, but at least our head is now out of the hangman's noose for the time being. To be honest, this is the first "good news" day on here for a very long time :).

However these funds were raised for a different specific purpose so imo should be used for that (not that Zeps cause isn't more worthy); maybe someone could start a different fund for Zeps?

Fg: yes you're right.
But they chose a different route, of stealing it off us. So they spent a huge amount of money (16m dollars or whatever; look in their accounts to check). And they won it in the arbitration, as they knew they would, because they made it impossible for us to comply with the PSA.
Why spend that huge amount of money and effort if there was nothing there?

We seem to be in a place none of us wanted to be with our investments or expected to be. What happens from here?
Under political pressure the GG have seemingly offered an olive branch of an agreement to FRR, but, firstly, these may only be words, and secondly Zaza has openly rejected the advance and actually ramped up his attacks on the Government.
He clearly believes he cannot work with the current administration. In the arbitration result document, he had stated that we had been intimidated and blocked constantly by the government but was unable to provide any evidence of such.
The relationship seems to be broken. So where does this leave us investors? Well we have no choice. We have to accept Zaza's hardball approach, supported, to some degree by the US. It looks like Zaza believes regime change is our only hope. So that is what we must hope for if the election happens in October. We have the 27 July deadline but I now suspect that may pass by with nothing much happening (although that is a pure guess) as the GG have no time left to do anything much and may not want to be seen to take our asset.
Zaza is a driven man and, as a massive shareholder, is aligned with us. So hopefully there remains a possibility of a positive result ... eventually.

It's good that the GG are now courting us of course, in response to the political pressure despite winning the arbitration, but words are meaningless. Frontera kept banging on in the arbitration evidence that the GG had constantly obstructed our progress. What would be no good now is that the GG say all the right things, to get re-elected. Then they can continue to screw us. We need regime change. Zaza knows that that is our way forward. If GD get voted in again then the obstruction will continue. This, despite the arbitration loss, is why he is playing hardball. He is right in so doing. The strategy seems to be to defer the 27 July asset loss somehow and then work with a hopefully different regime.
Thank God we are still alive and Zaza's last ditch strategy is keeping our head above water.

Rainbow is right. If you own shares in FRR there is no loss (yet).
Actual losses can be set off against gains under CGT and net annual losses can be carried forward to be set off against future gains. But the loss has to be crystalised to be a CGT loss. So if you sell the shares at a price less than you purchased them for then that is a loss. If FRR goes bust then it I'm unsure about the technicalities but it will involve a communication from the receiver of some sort. I have losses from when CHL went bust a couple of years back but they're not yet official from a CGT perspective.

R8: I think anyone in Georgia is scared of publishing or direct quoting from the Arbitration Ruling for fear of legal action. The arbitration ruling does look genuine, as I have stated before; to forge something so convincingly would be an incredible achievement. I appreciate that most on here disagree with me but then most haven't read it. I'm just stating what I believe, which is what these boards are for.
So I don't believe Zaza, and he has plenty of 'previous' with mis-statements, but I am delighted that he has adopted the approach he has as we need him to win. After all, the alternative is to accept the ruling and hand over our asset; so he has little choice but to do what he has. He is, however, doing a fabulous job of it thankfully.

Goit: the arbitration ruling is clear on this point (actually it is clear on all points). It said that it was a material breach irrespective of subsequent compliance with returning the 99%. It also recognised the implications of that breach. So what the GG have done is completely in line with the ruling and as such we have 26 days to go.
However their (verbal) position softening is presumably down to politics. We just need then to follow it up with action and not take the remaining 1.58% back.

The 1.58% has been mentioned in various official places a while back, but not recently. I will try to find the references.
In terms of what the GG offered, they mentioned 1%. I added the 0.58 to make it the precise figure. Technically they didn't offer to give it back either, they offered to let FRR keep it under certain conditions. At the moment it goes back to GOGC on 27 July.

I did say that I was now more optimistic than at any time since delist, so yes, definitely more hope and positives in the last two weeks, albeit only words on the part of the GG so far. Fingers crossed.

But I read through the arbitration ruling, unlike many on here. Believe it is genuine. It ruled there was a material breach, and realised the implications of that. GOGC then followed up on that by serving notice. Our return of the 99% is irrelevant to their right to the 1%, which per the ruling, is their entitlement. Personally I am less concerned about FTI as they just need to pay the creditors.

So Zaza is playing a blinding (albeit dangerous) game of misleading everyone, thankfully. He is banking on no-one having the balls to publish the arbitration ruling in Georgia. If someone does publish it his house of cards may tumble or maybe he will then say it is fake. Wtfdik. His gall is admirable.

There are many obstacles to be negotiated and the odds are still stacked against us but I am more optimistic of a positive outcome than at any time since delist. Just think that some on here are inclined to stick their heads in the sand and ignore the facts. Their choice of course, but I prefer to look at the facts. Mole's posts generally are the most informed and balanced and so merit the greatest attention. It's good that he has been back posting recently.
