RE: Looks like the ceasefire will be coming soon28 Mar 2022 00:44
Already covered that a few days ago/last week when I shared a documentary on Putin the international investment skimmer. That is if Putin is not a scimming from the domestic tax pile kind of oligarch as well which is quite likely. As well as facilitating the kind of autocracy enabled only by compromised/convenient oligarchs (Kadyrov being a prime example). If Putin ever hopes to retire he'll need a cadre of people that won't sell him out much like how he came to power via Yeltsin.
However despite that Putin leads a legitimate (world stage sense) government and it falls to the people of Russia to change that if they so wish. Current mood seems not overly inclined to such things from what I can discern. If anything we've made Kremlin support stronger via "othering" all of Russia.
Believe it or not but I actually know a lot about Slavic history, like old and modern, before this all kicked off, being wanting to pay my respects in person at the monument to the liquidators of Chernobyl and Pripyat since I was about 6 and watched a Panorama Documentary on it which is what first caused me to respect that which relic cold war propaganda painted as heartless, drunk and failed. Then there was that phase of being a ww2 nerd. Oh I loathe communism but hey, Red Army bled like we didn't is all. Za vas paschim! Crying shame what Stalin did to Zhukov as well but hey, one can speculate that Patton met a similar fate at the hands of his superiors for much the same reasons of political expediency.
Private tinfoil reporting in sir!
Bottom line Russias government is no more or less legit than the current yank one so meh. What's your point? Putin aided LDR and DPR from 2014 onwards? Well he would not have done that if there had not being a coup instigated due to an oil and gas pipeline going the wrong way. Zelensky however is meant to be running a thriving liberal democracy. Also who funded Zelensky early on? Yeah well. Panama Papers is all I'll say there. I expect Putin to be dirty, didn't think Zelensky would be such an equal. So forgive me if I state none of this would have happened if certain activities had not being undertaken by Western interests and certain agreements had not being ignored. Hence Russia is not the aggressor in the cold war capacity but it sure is in the hot war sense.
Now that the situation has being lamentably forced I won't get twisted by the realities of war, I'll do my darnest to see through the fog of war.
Also I'm relishing in the irony of so called progressives defending actual Nat Soc forces after spending the past 8 years being told that the orange one was a literal reincarnation of a failed liberal arts student and there was some kind of actual Nat Soc movement alive and well in things like Brexit and MAGA, whatever Gheert Wilders movement was called, Marine Le Pen etc etc. Each year since 2015 I keep thinking the world can't get any more mad but then the new year begins...
All the best peeps, I'm gonna go play Metro Exo
