I will get hubby to get back in to our main portfolio where we actually make money (helps to cover these losses) and leave you lot to sort FFWD out. If it does go under 7p we will add just to round our holding up. We were hoping FFWD was going to be a big pay!!!! day so we could buy another property away from the wicked witch of the north (leader of the nationalist party) for those not living in the wilderness. We still think some of you spend too much time looking, worrying and searching for FFWD information that will boost the price. Go and do something that has nothing to do with investment and you will find relaxation there. We will have a look next Monday to see if anything has happened. An order to buy at 6.9p is with one of our stock brokers as we may miss it being busy elsewhere.
As we have said before we do admire your consistency and the many hours you put in researching FFWD. You do deserve a nice bonus at the end for it all. Any way the ashes start at our beloved Edgbaston, which we miss. So Mondays visit here may drift to Wednesday after England and Wales are one up in the series. Take care all happy researching.

You are not alone, we are down quite a bit (27% approx.) but think there are others with even bigger losses, in £ terms. Very disappointed to see 3 * 100,000 shares sold by someone at the end of play. We had thought all these large disposals had ended. Makes you concerned that there is very bad news in the pipeline. Even the most positive on here appear to have run out of words and reasons for the retreat again. Excluding that there are no buyers to make a big upwards impact.
If it goes to under 7p again we will think of adding to our holding, but worry we are throwing good money after bad. Even Factom fans seem to be wilting. It was not long ago they were all boosting it up and saying we were in for a good pay day with patience. Now they are questioning the wisdom of what FFWD has done following the latest RNS. Of course we do not know what is going on in the background so have to stop worrying about the SP, forget the stock and look weekly until their is very very good news, or get out with your loss and forget it. At which point it rockets upwards!!!!!

This appears to be a full programme following what was on BBC5 yesterday morning. which highlighted a cross party visit to Canada to look at legalising cannabis..

We are not keen on recreational use but if it is no worse than beer and fags you cannot really argue against it we guess. Fags mess your body, beer your head and body if taken in excess, do we want anything else that affects your head?
But like the two legalised you have the choice whether to take it or not. If it stops illegal traders, the country could get tax revenu out of it if sold through chemists etc. to offset the loss of petrol tax as more part/electric vehicles come on the road

The wife is interested as she wonders if it would be any better for her medical use than the morphin she has at present.
Morphin messes her head so we assume cannabis would also mess your head, but to what degree?

Did the original agreement with Factom give Factom the option of an limited extension to the final date just to "clear things up" or are we mistaken?
Regarles, it matters not what we think or say what they do is up to them and is in their hands. We are big supporters of FFWD but we have stopped looking at the site "every two minutes" as it will make not the slightest difference.
Perhaps some of you have got too engrossed with FFWD as we did, but there is a life outside FFWD, not only with other stocks but with life itself. something through our illness's has made us realise.
Having little knocks at each other because of your frustration about the lack of news only sets you all up at each others throats.
At the weekend we will have a look at some of the posts if we have time, but daily we look morning and late afternoon at the trades, when there are any.
We all (we hope) want the same thing, FFWDs SP to go up, so do not have a go at each other and try to read something in their posts that is not there, possible because how they phrased what they said.
If you disagree with something or find an error in their posts, just put your point of view without being horrid to the other person.
As for FFWD we are looking for an initial gain to 30 -40p then on to £1 in 12 -24 months after that. No doubt we are completely of the radar with our aims.

Just noticed the fall in the SP we sold out in the early autumn at around 40-45p for a small loss. Remember the sound advice
IF A SHARE DROPS 10% (EXCL. EX DIV) GET OUT.
Overall you will save money. That is why we sold after a 10% drop.
We have been trading about 50 yrs and it really is sound advice, but we still struggle to do it.

Buy back when it settles, which in the case of PDL may be around 8p after what we have read.

Our last mistake was FFWd after it dropped from 17p. We bought back in at 13p 11p 10p 9p 8p 6.9p.
The reason we bought more after failing to get out when it dropped 10% was the NAV which was 12p and probably a little more.
If we had got out and bought back at 7p 8p we would be just above breaking even as it is 8p at the moment. with the NAV 12.5p With our FFWD average at 10p+ we feel we are safe, as everything it owns is doing well, and hopefully looking for big gains from some of its investments.
It is easy to say get out after a 10% fall but it is difficult to do. However it does save you money.
PDL will not attract buyers at the moment so regardless of what you think of the figures, unless the rest of the world agrees it will not rise and may even fall further as others try to save some of their investments buy selling.

That is our general feeling also, so you would expect an RSN advising of the date the results will be issued to the general public to be released a week or so before. They would also appear in the financial diary. companies also use to give a pre results guidance a month or so prior to the release of results.
The feeling used to be that the later the results appear the worse they are. Unless a major news item is expected very soon by the company. Which would accompany the results. FFWD are a law unto themselves though!!!!!!!!!

When a take over or share price affection act is going to be announced company shares used to be suspended a day or so before, that also seems to have gone by the board these days.

But we are old and out of touch.

At leased the sellers seem to have unloaded all that they wanted to. Perhaps we have spoken to soon

Re your remarks you made to my wife on her post last night.
It is not very nice to tell an 77 year old lady who is very disabled and struggles to even write on a lap top "to get a grip" Plus her eyesight is very very poor at the moment owing to extreme cataracts, which have put her on the priority list at hospital to have them done.
She actually told you FACTUAL events about the quotes we had, not the "guess" posts we get over and over again from a number of you. Do you walk down the street looking for vulnerable old ladies in wheel chairs who do or say something you do not like and tell them to get a "grip." She has probably forgotten more than you ever knew.
We have been telling you for months to be patient, so why tell us?
WE HAVE ALWAYS SAID WE ARE BIG BELIEVERS IN FFWD and will continue to be so long as everything appears to be OK. We look at it as investing a small amount in each of the companies that FFWD invest in. rather than the very large amount we have invested in FFWD. This thinking applies to all the I.T.s. we invest in.

We have always acknowledged the work and time some of you put in to get information and thanked you for it.
We did make the error of adding at too high a price, something the wife was against, instead of selling and buying back later. initially the posts on here that there was going to be good news "in a couple of weeks" had us adding, this was a mistake on our part, because at a time we were both quite poorly and could not be bothered to try and check. Then the fact the results would soon be out stopped us selling.
Both these decisions were OURS.
As we have said we are here to increase our portfolios value but the poor performance of FFWD has held us back to to a very small increase in its value over 12 months..
To repeat ourselves again we do look for low SP of stocks, sectors, Etc. that are out of favour, and we feel that they are undervalued.
There are certain ITs. we do have for the long term, while they are performing satisfactorily, that is our way of investing, rather than have all our chickens in one basket. We all have our own methods. Should things drastically change in the world we do temporarily revise our method of investing. Oh and we do NOT like cryptocuriences because that have nothing to back them up in our opinion.
We have wondered how many good people people have been chased off the FFWD post site because of insults flying about. There have been page after page of insults on here with no real information being posted.
We have hardly put anything on here as others have beaten us to it.
SO PLEASE CONTINUE PUTTING USEFUL INFORMATION ON HERE AND STOP BEING RUDE TO EACH OTHER AS IT DOES NOTHING EXCEPT MAKE YOU LOOK LIKE A BULLY or SOME ONE WHO LOVES THEIR OWN IMPORTANCE.

We were quoted 8.485 last thing to buy 50000 down from this mornings quote for 50000 of 8.61. The two unknown trades looked like buys to us. It has certainly gone quiet with just the one reasonable sale of 60 K.
Not sure why you think we think every think is a sell with so few sales? We still feel there are a lot of potential buyers in the wings just like us. Excluding the results they may all be just itching to buy but waiting to see how low it goes. Once 3 or 4 come in with decent purchases we may see the others start to buy. We have fixed a price in our mind at which we will start to purchase regardless, adding in to our ISA's
Our last post was just an of the cuff remark, as are most of ours. Looked on here more lately as the Doctors said i could not drive until lovely Thursday this week following the operation . With the wife waiting to go in for her minor Op. and me driving again we shall return to looking at the good posts once or twice a week, rather than a few times each day. As we have said in the past, never take us too seriously, most are just observations which may or may not be correct. Our only concern is that the results are not up to the expectations of many of you. If they are poor but the NAV is still above the SP there may only be a small drop. On the other hand a NAV of 15p would not surprise us which may get the SP to settle at around 12 p after initially rising higher. It takes a lot to surprise us after nearly 50 years of investing seriously.
Again we repeat that we are grateful for the work some of you do in scouring the internet for even the smallest snippet of information. You all must spend many hours collating your information. US, as previously stated, we are just small investors who like to purchase out of favour funds, stocks and sectors.
Nice to see most of you are not having a go at each other so much, it does not do any good whatsoever and has people concentrating on answering any knocks they receive instead of sorting good information to post on here for OUR benifit!!!!!!!!

There probably a lot of potential buyers out there, just waiting to pounce at 6.99 p when it is offered. If they all keep their nerve it may get down to that price, if sellers keep on unloading. Every time we look, the offer price has moved down.
But and it is a big But, results may just spoil their ambitions.

We were trying to keep it simple for people.
The things you mentioned had generally occurred during the accounting period, but not realised at the time when the accounting period ended. Only afterwards, as per your examples.
You can have a big event happen after the accounting period which can be noted in the final statements. As you said.
As you know, a lot of movement and juggling of of figures can make alter the accounts one way or the other..
We were not trying to make it to complicated, and in fact were going to advise that certain other things can be covered in various ways, but decided to delete to avoid complications.
We have found ourselves a lot of things posted on here are not always easy to follow, nothing wrong with them, but they do get over complicated. We just tried to avoid that. We apologies for not making that point.
To be fair, of late they seem to get away with a lot of things that would not have been thought of acceptable over 20 years ago.

Regards items that happen JUST AFTER the accounting period ends, they will NOT count in this years accounts but will appear in next years accounts.
Events that happened the day after and onwards from the LAST accounting period to the end of the accounting period WILL count.
So going back 12 months, if something happened just after the last accounting period and you asked the same question. That item would NOT have been included in last years accounts but it IS included in this years accounts.
Only events that happen within the dates of the accounting period will be in those accounts.
Trust we have made that clear enough. have read it a couple of times and have attempted to make it as clear as possible to those not in to accounting.

Do you think they will first announce the date the results will be issued ( like the majority of other companies) or just release them?
What did they do in previous years? Date and then release or just release.
May as join you in the guessing game, which is of no us to any of you and say they will just release them.
