Although the purchase of Elucigine has increased the geographical footprint to 60 countries and massively expanded the product base this has come at the expense of existing shareholders. Further to the 92m shares placing to finance the purchase of Elucigine this year has seen a further 43m shares in circulation through the exercising of Thermo Fisher warrants. There is now over 450m shares in issue from the 180m there was in 2015. This inflation is only surpassed by the size of the Management Team of 19 and BoD size of 9.

Though Walbrook have tried better than Vigo it still remains that of the close to 30 RNS this year there have been more RNS on Management appointments, Director options and holdings than any commercial progress. From memory this has been less than 5. The new broker and new marketing company were appointed to support investor road shows which if they had happened has not resulted in any new IIs. The presentation this week noticeably needing no update from Walbrook on their investor presentation from July and no update to Stifel's broker ratings. Although Steven Myers has increased his holding, as well as those close to the Company, this has in part been forced by PIs selling out if in profit and the Company having to hold the support level @ 11p where they bought heavily.

The Company seems content for the share price to remain at this level where they can purchase in future funding calls till a time that they sell-out. As a very poor market performer lumbered with the amount of shares in issue it would be difficult to generate the share interest required for sustained buying pressure which this share sorely needs. With the new Iona Illumina test confirmed we should see more commercial progress in the New Year and hopefully some revised forecasts in the Half Year results which may provide some answers.

DPYD is a simple-to-use genotyping test that can identify patients with DPD deficiency, which can cause severe and sometimes lethal side effects for those cancer patients receiving certain chemotherapy treatments. The product launch opens up the oncology and pharmacogenomics segments and broader market potential for our diagnostic products for personalised medicine.
 
The Balance Sheet has been transformed over the past twelve months and with an experienced and motivated executive management team in place, supported by the additional high calibre Non-executives that have joined the board I am confident of the growth strategy we have set ourselves to deliver enhanced shareholder value.

KIE doesn't just have shorts...It is the most shorted company on the FCA's Short Interest Tracker. This is also discounting the shorters that you see on the BBs as the Short Interest tracker doesn't track positions below 0.5%.

So investing in the 'most' shorted company should give cause to concern and should not be taken lightly. TCG where the shareholders face a significant dilution have a short position of 9.63% vs KIE's 11.96%. I'm a bit disappointed that TT International have increased their short position by 0.15% to 3.56% on the 14th August.

I was hoping there would be a short squeeze here but I am confused as to why the shorts have not been closing more significantly since the 01st August statement which one would expect before the September results with the expected Kier Living sale.

With respect to the Tussell article this dates back to 18th Sep 2018 (https://www.tussell.com/insights/is-kier-the-next-carillion). The sp when this article was written was over 1000. It would have been a very expensive read if you had taken Tussell's advice then.

Waiting on the sidelines here till more clarity is received on sale and financials as at present it is far too volatile a stock for me and very difficult one to call for swing trading.

I still have a legacy 300k shares at old NIPT highs but sold the rest of the circa 2M holding. I do have great sympathies with some posters here as I do know what has been spread through back-channels to some investors here and I would have to say there's been a policy of deliberate mis-information. I am fairly relaxed that I will make a profit on these 300k but more likely in the event of an unexpected TO. After being a holder for 5 years now I too share the frustrations expressed. It would be interesting to know what Illumina and TMO think of this organic growth strategy as ultimately it leads to a higher TO price which is strange there's not been a low-ball offer by them or a 3rd Party.

Last September/October was a very bleak time and the inevitable flack was being received. Hemo referred to himself as Cassandra, myself as Mr Micawber and Florida as Polonius. It was an intelligent put-down to be fair but Mr Micawber wasn't as simplicistly optimistic acharacter as per the comment suggested.

Yes Mr Myers has increased his shareholding from 8.4% to 9.1% and does seem that there is a growing consolidation of shares among those within and close to the Company. The strange thing is that this is happenning at these levels despite there being no imminent news expected or shareholder value creation (apologies to other holders for referring to the 3 to 5 year comment) . So you would have expected that they would have awaited the sp to drift a bit more?

yep and the 18 strong Exec team (doubled in last year) and 9 strong BoD come cheap and help out with the cost cutting drive lol Wasn't this should have re-rated by now. Back to sleep zzzzz

Long story short this stock is not for you. This is not a put down just saying this is not a learning trade and despite what you believe from the BBs most traders loose. Any trade which you can walk away from with profit is a good trade. The reason why Spreadex, Plus500 and ETX have to declare the average number of losses of the normal PI (circa 80%) is because most traders loose and on AIM more so. You'll hear always on a BB some trader saying they've made X or Y - most haven't - if they did they wouldn't need to say or have a team working the BBs.

This BB has failed to guide you on the use of Stops and Limits. Part of the reason for the massive fluctuations is the nervousness of most PIs to this stock. So Limits have been used (e.g. @ 136p yesterday) to cash out hence the sudden drop and Stops used to limit losses. So today and yesterday you saw a flurry of sales and buys as these thresholds suddenly got breached. I have sympathies with posts where people have said they just stepped away for a second (had a sandwich) and saw their positions suddenly sold as there was a sudden spike or drop. Till September update this is a crap shoot to be honest and for now I am on the side-lines as it is a pure gamble.

For even seasoned traders this is is a very volatile stock. Today the NHS awarded a place for Kier in a £100m framework contract which shows some confidence in Kier having a future and a restoration of the sp to hold highs. But today also shows that most of the SP inflation is driven by PIs (not IIs) and fickle. Some IIs still believe that the debt position is unfeasible. So either there will be in the coming months a short squeeze and spike or a the shorts claim another spike.

A pull back was expected but this morning's spike was a bit cruel driven I suspect made worse by the worse than expected inflation results. After todays drop as there's no new expected there may be a slower morning whilst some see where this is heading. But with the new VAT rules in Oct (in addition to Brexit) the're some headwinds for Construction irrespective of the fundamentals. If there's a reverse some PIs on losses may also seek to double up in order to get back their loose (and potentially exit sooner).

I suspect there will be some more profit taking before the end of the day before the next leg up. Cannot go up in a straight line.

I suspect there's been more than 1 big background seller than TW and the known big seller earlier in the year with I suspect those closer to the Company buying to hold the line at 11p where the Directors have bought significantly. Hence not the big fall as per last September when the dissapointment was similar.

In advance of the AGM on the 17th Sep you are now seeing an expanded Global Leadership team with ex-Elucigene Diagnostics joing the Executive team like Dr Mark Street-Docherty (VP of Business Development and Scientific Affairs) and Dr Greg Fitzgibbon (Global Operations Director (EMEA)) and Tony Gee (Financial Director EMEA).

So an 18 (!) strong Exec team 8 strong BoD (Dr John Brown has now joined as Non-Exec Senior Independent Director) as Keng Hsu had to step down to move to Asia.

The main story here is where are all the new II's given there was suppossed to be a roadshow to attract new investors. Although the Company has diluted itself to grow organically over the next 5 years rather than seeking a distressed sell - which would have been expected given what happened to Sequenom - the main other area of interest will be what Illumina and TMO will do once the Illumina IONA CE-IVD as it was noticeable that TMO didn't take part in the recent placings. With all the Director Holdings RNS this year they do seem to be loading up.

Although Kuvari is still very negative (2.29%) the last 3 (Marshall Wace LLP, Squarepoint Ops LLC and TT International) have been winding down their positions since 01st August when the post trading update came. Together there have 7.71% of the 11.87% hence agreeing there may be a short squeeze which we have only just started to see.

If you believe that the sale of Kier living will have to happen before the 12th Sep results than the sp should react positively to an improvement of the net debt position. I was awaiting a bit for the recovery to be underway before dipping in but think there's still some left in the tank given that the sp was 350p+ 3 months ago and circa 500p 6 months ago.

Although the recent share price has been impressive in the last week in relation to where it was 3 months ago its has more than halved from 300+p. Looks like the shorts are closing and I would expect that before the 12th Sep there will be more news on the sale of Kier Living to make the results look good. So I am hopeful there's still more to go and we should be above 150p by end of month as by now all the worst news is out there.

Surprised by the sell by the CIO. Has there been any news of the Dividend payment this year and whether this will be reduced or still paid? Doesn't look to have bottomed here

I believe the Regulatory Affairs Consultant being employed is in relation to the CE-IVD accreditation for the Illumina IONA CE-IVD so should be on target for early 2020 launch after which should see more contract within within Europe and potentially the US

Thanks for your observations however for now I will await by the side-lines.

Key concern for me was not the impact on order book and revenue but that the reason cited in the article were concerns of the firm's prospects which is a bit of a red flag. I was hoping that there was going to be some update today which would have reassured the market and clients on progress but it looks like this will only come in September. Although I will await till September then to see the results and progress I do hope all LTHs the best of luck till then.

I had thought that at least an update to the strategic update would have come today but looks like that has been concluded and the Company will now just get on with the cost cutting plan and update in September.

It seems a shame as Caddick Developments no longer plans to use Kier to deliver the first phase of its flagship £300m mixed-use scheme at Quarry Hill in central Leeds and British Land has recently decided not to proceed with Kier on its £300m Norton Folgate scheme near London’s Spitalfields Market where the contractor had delivered the preconstruction phase. Both have suugested: “The rumour is the funder was nervous about Kier’s prospects."
