Admittedly a difficult call for many investors whether to sell or not ..we had the same with Solgold and their sp was 2p lower than the buyout price for much of the time in the run up to court date but there did seem to be a lot more opposition to it with them whereas it seems more nailed on particularly with the deal done with Elevra

I would like to think that someone else will enter the fray but it would need to be with deep pockets not necessarily because we have a Chinese bid in pole position and I only made the comment about Solgold because there was all this chat from the Whitehouse re the Chinese and critical minerals and then just 2 minutes later Solgold gone with not so much as a whimper..unless of course they stop it once they have been delisted !

Ceejay I know you don't like solgold as an example but they have made the biggest copper /gold/silver discovery in the last 20 years and the Chinese have nicked it out of Trumps back garden !!

People have only been using Solgold as a company that promised so much but delivered so little in terms of expected returns in the event of a takeover !! Remind you of anyone 🤔

No I think it is the other way round..Atlantic knew the money was not going to be forthcoming..they had had the heads up on that for some time so they were up the swanee without a paddle in sight ..Atlantic had probably lost some of offtakers interest over the delay and Ghana want to get this going so when someone comes along and puts up the money for the whole kitcaboodle they have gone with that notwithstanding someone might have a go at Atlantic

Unless there is another bid or increase in offer the only communication to expect will be about the process or forms 8.3 / 8.5 declared

It does look like the Chinese have got this wrapped up with the deals they have done with Elevra and Atlantic..obviously if another entity came in for Atlantic then there would have to be negotiations over who pays what but as time goes on a deal would probably seem unlikely..as I mentioned previously Solgold had only one bidder but that offer was sweetened by 2p which may happen here in the absence of another bid..personally think another bid here is more likely than it was at solgold but not holding my breath !

Yes I thought that Ramon ..I posted recently the use it or lose it outcome if they did not sirt ut out quickly..houyou have got a fantastic deal and probably going to do a deal with Miif to appease the Ghanaians .

You have to also remember in all of this that Elevra were still going to have to pay market price for the spodumene not something Houyou will have to worry about !!

One thing I have learnt from the stockmarket Major-Tom is nothing is ever really nailed on until it has happened and I would never be surprised about a curve ball appearing about something that was never anticipated..having said that if 18.8p is what it is , a major disappointment for sure then not much we can do about that ! If nothing else turns up then we have to assume with all the spodumene hungry companies out there there clearly is not a big enough risk appetite to have a go

using back of *** packet calculations huayou will have to spend circa 500 million us to get elevra stake , buyout atlantic and build the mine which equates circa 367 million sterling..

going on the dfs figures using 1587 us a tonne and producing 350000 tonnes a year brings in 550 million us equating to 440 million sterling

obviously no deductions in there but clearly somebody with deep pockets might feel it is worth getting involved here !

As I said above the project needs financing something Elevra were unprepared to do so from that point of view it is a positive development..it still leaves the door open for someone to come in for Atlantic with a higher bid that is on the table.

Given what we have been told thus far it looks like the Chinese would be getting a great deal ..who knows but with Solgold we had a very similar situation with a Chinese buyer and there was no counterbid..before anyone comes back and says the comparison with Solgold is not the same i am just stating that shareholders thought both assets were fundamentally under valued..there was no white knight for Solgold maybe there will be for Atlantic..at least with Solgold the Chinese sweetened the deal with a 2p increase on the original bid

I do think there is a chink of light in all of this ..at least the project is going to go ahead , subject to Ghana agreeing but why wouldn't they .. Elevra out of the frame making it much less hassle dealing with a company that is trying to stall , and you have now got a company that has secured offtake that it needs and now it just remains to be seen if there is anyone else out there that wants to take on what Atlantic is selling for more than 155 million

Atlantic have now confirmed in an announcement the deal and that any amounts that had been in dispute have now basically been dealt with ..

Still a possibility that some more can be squeezed out of this for shareholders

Just as an aside Piedmont originally invested 16 million us into atlantic shares and 17 million into Ewoyaa..they then got 8 million back from Assore from the shares they sold them so this deal will make them £34 Million before taxes etc

Yes makes sense in that way they can hardly lose..they have got the offtake and 4.1 % stake in Atlantic lithium so if it was the spod they primarily are focused on if they don't win the orize outright at least they will make a chunk on the shares they accumulate
