I doubt that the T&Cs attached to any refinancing loan will permit dividends to be paid before the debt is repaid.

But many companies raise funds for "working capital" which is used to richly reward management. Shareholders seem to be the last to see any return (if they are lucky).

Be wary of the US markets... I think that the $ is overvalued (significantly so). A correction would reduce the £ value of any investment there at the same time as input price inflation erodes profitability. Throw in the risk of Trump returning to power and implementing tariffs (and, potentially, withholding taxes on remittances) that would further damage profits and you might find the grass is still greener here.
