The article paints a bleak picture but still underestimates the extent of the overbuilding, destruction of personal savings and the depreciation burden that has been placed on the shrinking population. Few articles about the economic crisis in China ever mention the maintenance / depreciation burden of an oversupply of poorly built housing, infrastructure and manufacturing capacity.

The chronic oversupply of property is about to get exposed... some say that they have built enough property for another 1.5 billion people. Not yet - they have had promising results from 'several cycles' of charging and discharging. To be suitable their graphite will need to undergo tests over thousands of cycles to see how stable the chemistry is. A cynic would suggest that releasing the news without the explanation that it will take much more time to know if the tests are valid is a ploy to generate some interest in the share before a placing.
