"As for mystery vs. mask — I’d say mystery invites curiosity, while a mask deflects it. One’s about keeping a little space for yourself; the other’s about creating a version of yourself for others. Subtle difference, but it’s all about intent."
I agree, but I'm a cat here - in true life, I'm a 6ft, 18 stone scruffy viking (in shorts) - my mask of a cat was only every to prove that a cat 'could' have better investment knowledge than the crap I was hearing back in 2020 - but that's another story! 😂
"Your example with the design clients is spot on — if Nettles were a graphic artist, I doubt her clients would care whether she’s 2 or 20, as long as the work lands perfectly. Same goes for you — if you’re delivering quality, your age, background, or personal details are irrelevant."
Thank you - that works for me.
"But in places like this — forums full of opinions, egos, and the occasional troll — mystery can be a strength when it’s rooted in authenticity. If it keeps things dignified and grounded, I’m all for it. But when mystery becomes a shield to swerve fair questions or stir drama? That’s when it starts to feel like a mask."
Now I understand your point Captain - masking true intentions is disingenuous and wrong, apologies I missed that in your original synopsis.

Truth will always out? My mum used to say that - and more importantly, Judge Judy suggests "If you don't lie, you don't need a good memory!"
Got a dog now by the way - Bentley. He's 8 weeks old so yet to make an appearance here but I feel he maybe high risk (AIM stocks)... I'll keep you posted but he'll no doubt make an appearance arguing against Nettles investments.... 😂
