RE: Where are you holding your shares31 Jul 2025 22:37
Fully agree with everything you've said Captain, but we hear from the horses mouth (Tufan) that SMR will not be profitable until 2030.
That's RR SMR Ltd by the way. I think I was the only one here to sit through the last CMD (correct me if I'm wrong if anyone else here did it?) and the
precursor to almost all questions asked at the Q&A was a laughable "so obviously the debts of RR SMR LTD are ridiculous....."
Even Tufan laughed at one stage - What could have been a substantial influx to RR PLC bottom line has become what the likes of Graphine and ARM became. The UK government being to slow in their approach to an obvious UK industry on the front line of a global monopoly, backed only by £250m from the then Conservative government, and a silly idea to offer a 'competition' in terms of legal tender to those not up for the job.
I may be wrong, but if France, Spain, the US and any other country had a home grown talent with 10 years R&D to say "give us the contract, we can do it", Cev would never be on board - in fact, any decent national government would have invested to say (5 years ago), "We are the future! Invest in us!"
Alas, we have another weak governing power that doesn't know anything about business.
Hence, RR SMR LTD will be a great company in years to come, and the home grown RR PLC (we all invest in) will have no uptake of that entity for many years after.
What a dying shame.
