I think that some of what you are saying is down to BT internal processes, but some of the provision process is out of there control. If a product is requested that requires a new network install at either end, ie new or additional fibre, or additional kit to provide connectivity, then that will cause a delay while it is planned and any kit ordered. Even if there is everything in place, kit, fibre, access to the external network may well be required to give end to end connectivity. This may involve splicing fibres in joints say in a carriageway, then permition may well be needed from the local authorities to access that part of the network. Depending on the location that could be done the same day, or be told that accessibility will take several weeks to be given by the authorities. That is out of BTs or any over utilities providers hands. It’s not always as simple as it may seem from outside, there are many constraints outside a providers control...
